Do you know if it's early production?

Sorry no. As much as I love these razors I am not the person to ask for dates and such. This set was one that Dave gave to me soon after I got into the SE world. I don't know more then that.

I recently picked up a cased 1924one from someone. I'll respond with my review when I test shave the razor, can't wait to try it. I think they look pretty damn cool!
Would you say they are more or less agressive than the mm clog prof?

Well, I've been accused :-) of calling the EverReady '14 too mild when it isn't (?), so I'll refrain from commenting.
It's a nice shaving instrument though.

Got to shave with the Shovelhead (short handle type that came in the little metal case) this morning with a 3rd use GEM Personna SS blade.Used Williams to decrease variables for comparison to other razors. Some random thoughts in no particular order: First thing I noted is the sweet spot shaving angle (for me) is with the blade cover very close to parallel to my face.Whisker removal is insanely good....the feedback (buttering toast noise) grows louder if I increase the angle a bit but I get the a harsh sensation that the blade's "catching" on whiskers it was easily slicing through at a slightly lesser angel. Outstanding performance in the tight spot between my nose and the mustache and more importantly gives a good sense of the blade's edge so I can accurately trim a tight straight line on outside the rest of the edge of my goatee. Agressive ? Heck I don't know that I got that feeling, but it was about as efficient a razor as I've used.Performace was so solid I gave it a quick spin for some head shaving and was impressed there as well. I like the reverse fliptop blade cover, don't know how,but I don't get the sense it retaining and water as noted by others. The little handle? Shorter than I perfer, but wow what a great design for optimal grip, very nice.I could use this shortie handle forever and be ok but make it an inch longer and it's paradise... I'm assuming the Shovelhead originally sold in both short and regular longer handle versions ? In my early stages of SE shaving I don't have the experience and perspective to know where to rate a razor overall,my opinions may change drastically over time. That said,I consider the Shovelhead a serious contender as my go to razor but I'm going to keep on playing the field for now. The name ? Forgive me for dragging motorcycle related content into this but I'm sure many of you are familar with the iconic Harley Davidson Shovelhead motor. The razor came decades before the motor but there's a common thread... (note the rocker box covers) The Shovelhead is an air-cooled, 45 degree, V-twin motorcycle engine manufactured from 1966 to 1984 by Harley-Davidson. The "shovel" cylinder head represented an offshoot of the panhead design it replaced in 1966[1] but featured a slightly different look. The name was derived from the appearance of the rocker box covers. Because these covers bring to mind the head of coal shovels when inverted, the name shovelhead was a natural progression. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley-Davidson_Shovelhead_engine

Great looking '24 sleddog.... I really like mine, but have been busy evaluating other razors and have not given my Shovelhead the attention it definitely deserves.

Nice razor set.
I hadn't caught up on this thread lately and didn't spot the photos of the Harley with the shovelhead engine. Very cool!! I have heard these called shovelheads a few times now but I have never realized it had to do with the Harley bike. Very cool. Thnx for posting.
