Hm. Interesting. After I bought my first SE (an OCMM), and found out that it delivered excellent shaves, I pinged my friends and made them surrender their excess SEs. Lots of them. I'm German, and we like to do things thoroughly. The 1924 was one of the few that went out of the door almost immediately. Very nice design, but my bathroom is too full of shaving kit as is. Actually, I have disposed of all of them, except a rare English one currently in ZA (and I forget its name), a Henckels Wotan & Rapide and a Heljestrand (because I like honing, and they take cut-throat like blades) - and one GEM OCMM, CPMM, G-Bar and Flyinng Wing (the latter for the looks). If I had to pick one, and just one, SE, it would be the Wotan (because of its outstanding design), or the OCMM (because of its performance). But that is just me

i think there is certainly some differences between razors of the same patent dates.....In my shave-cave, the order of aggression for my most aggressive level SE's would be...from most aggressive.... #1. 1912 short handle, curved head, and tall back- the aggression factor on this one is 'off the charts' alan told me to keep 'Spike" on a short leash cause he bites...lmao #2. 1914 old style?..yep, my 1914 is more aggressive than my OCMM, but also very well behaves...just about perfect... #3. 1924....also just about perfect...equal to my 1914 in aggression but maybe just a tad smoother... #4. OCMM, and yes, this bad boy comes in 4th, but he's still very efficient... So my point being is, this comparison is for these 4 perticular examples...another 1914 or OCMM might score completely differently...although I do believe the basic shaving characteristics are intact. For each style.....ASR's QC I deem to be very high compared to much of the competition...
