I do not have a list of ingredients to compare. Does anyone know if there is a difference between Colgate cup soap and Colgate barbershop soap? I have several cakes of the cup soap and one barbershop that I love. I just picked up a mixed lot of Colgate off the bay. Just curious if there is a difference in the two.

Can you please post some pictures of these Colgate soaps? I'm afraid they're not distributed over here in Italy.

They have not been made in years. Not sure exactly how long. I love this soap. I have not tried the powder. Never had any to try.

There is a seller on Etsy who has a roll of these soaps and is selling them off individually ...

As I understand it, the only difference between the Cup soap and Barber soap was the packaging. I love Colgate Cup soap! Getting hard to find at a reasonable cost though. Glad I have a couple waiting to be used.

I picked up a 6 cake mixed lot of cup and barbershop soap for about $23. I am ok with that. I have 6 or 7 cakes of the cup soap stashed already.
I thought the difference might just be packaging and how the soap was labeled. I can not tell a difference in lather.

If YOU can't tell a difference in Lather...Thats good enough for me...In the future I want hesitate to cop either....Thanks I did try an old can of the powder that my Pop had....Lathered like crazy....and it was a thick, slick, lubricated, protective type lather...I really didn't expect it from a powder...And a little goes a long way. I used to think if a touch gave soooo much lather...If I had used how much I had originally thought would be nessesary....It'd be like someone opening my shave cave door and me sliding out on a sea of foam...ha,ha...If you ever see it, try it...At least the can I tried was amazing..And it looked very old...maybe pre WWII vintage...

I'd love to know what version I got many years ago. I thought it was their mug soap. It has been the only soap to date that I gave up on and I can normally lather anything. It was just short of trying to lather a white hockey puck.

Wow....this is their "mug" soap and it lathers almost like Arko....I hit it with a wet brush and theres lather everywhere....ha,ha.... One thing though.....there is a scan code on the box so it is not like an antique cake of Colgate.....maybe yours Brian was an older 'cake'....

I've used Colgate mug, cup and barbers. While I like them all, the mug doesn't perform quite as good as the older cup and barbers version.I recall reading that the ingredients where changed when they changed the name to mug, although I've never seen an ingredient list on any of the boxes.
Congrats Fuzzy on the Colgate barbers score, you're set for awhile!

I had such high hopes for it too.
