I'm going to take a wild guess and suggest GEM sized ... for the patent, then proprietary (or "standard", once the standard was changed from GEM to Gillette) upon release.

There is this patented razor as well. It came along with the New Standard styles after the early patent expiration. I don't believe it ever surfaced but if I trip on the prototype I'll be sure to post a pic. ; )
