Don't like Williams for shaving. Try as I might could not get a really good lather with it. Will stick to my Tabac, MWF and a couple artisan soaps. But the wife loves the stuff. Uses it to get tough stains out of some of the laundry (I'm a messy eater! ;D ) But I think every wet shaver should give it a try. If you can make it work like Fuzzy then you have a really inexpensive product to help you get great shaves. I started to ban you from this thread LOL ;D ;D Please note Mr. Fuzzy, that I did not totally trash the Williams. I did say nice things for other uses for it and I also suggested that others who have not tried it should do just that. In no way am I calling it William"JUNK"mug Shave Soap! ;D

The sack monster is about to grab me but maybe one last post or so...
Don't bother doing as I did with Williams. I took Toms advice on another forum and used a Ziploc XS lidded bowl (zxslb) from the supermarket to put my Williams into. I figured I was super smart and I put water into the zxslb so that next time it would be soft and ready; and it was, for a time. I reached a point where the "stuff" coming out of the puck and making my lather absolutely fantastic didn't come out any more. I had one lather that was the absolute pits and while never having razor burn before, I experienced it that day.
To make that puck of Williams useable again, I shredded it on the (what's it called?) shredder/grater in the kitchen and compressed it into the same zxslb that it came out of. It's worked again and I don't put water in the zxslb for the next shave anymore.

I just grate them into the Ziploc container and that's all. It seems to work well for me and I get great lather from Williams. The sack monster is about to grab me but maybe one last post or so... So a question for the club. Does Williams work better after being grated into a container??

I will say yes, only because it makes it easier to load the brush because of the larger surface area I can get when it's grated into a Ziploc or similar container. On other forums guys say it works better after getting through the outer surface, if that's correct grating it would solve that problem as well. So a question for the club. Does Williams work better after being grated into a container??

I am gonna pick up a few pucks when I am 'down south' this week and when I get back I'll great a couple up into a big super bucket and give it a whirl.
Then I can jump in with a couple of thoughts!

Looks like I may have to grab one of my wife's best cleaning soaps and grate some up and put it in a container and see how it lathers.

Hey Fuzzy, Just saw a thread over at SMF in the Gentlemen's Parlor Forum on Williams Memorabilia. Captured this pix from it. Take a look closely to see the "Unsurpassed" uses for Williams. Now I really know what those sweet smelling things are that my aunt used to hang over the edge of the toilet! ;D

I am typically the one to give any 'vintage ideas' a good try - but I have grown to prefer paper for my unsurpassed toilet troubles. Gonna give this one a pass for sure.

From wikipedia. .... Toilet, a dated term meaning to dress and groom oneself. Soooo has nothing to do with the crapper . Bur $2100 for that kinda thing? Sheesh I gotta get the time machine out.
