... Never paid more than $20 for any razor ... Don't let my wife hear this kinda stuff or I am totally scr*wed!!!! ;D At my age I think I will tell my wife that all my vintage razors were made of pot metal. ;D Have to be careful though. Maybe just tell her about 1 razor a week cause those little blue pills are expensive when not covered by insurance! ;D ;D

...... my wife is my best supporter...... That's nice! My wife and the rest of my family are convinced I'm completely off my rocker. We tend to get that alot from familys.

I just saw a beautiful Streamline set go on Ebay this morning. I had hopes that the high shipping and poor description would keep the price down, but it took off and soared way past my limit. I wonder if it was one of "us" that won it?

I loaded my Streamline with a Feather SE blade this morning, first time using this combo. It worked very well. The Streamline is truly a special razor.

Unfortunately it's one of those SEs you have to fork out a fair bit of money for.

Maybe I missed something.. do you put a spine on those. You do have to do a spine transplant on the Feathers to get them to work properly in some models, and not in others. I'd used it in a couple of Auto Strops and decided to see how it fit in the Streamline and it worked fine without it. The Streamlines top plate really closes tight and held it perfectly.

I must be the black sheep around here. I found the Streamline to be a bit of a clunker. All style and no substance and a relatively poor performer in comparison to a 1912. Sold my set 6 months ago, with no regrets at all.

My earlier comments in this thread indicated "I find it to be somewhat cumbersome, but others claim it to be a very good shaver"I have never had a great shave with it and have never shied away from giving it low marks in the performance dept. as for me it is too heavy, unyeilding, and not responsive to my face but rather like a heavy lawnmower. It is a darn fine looking razor though. So there are the two of us at least!

That's blasphemous. In the absence of a proper inquisition process and by way of protest I'm moving my Streamline to the top of the rotation. So there!

Well the reason why I won't pay big money for one is because I have heard mixed results, so I'm not going to pay $50 plus to try one. Some people don't like the 1912 Some don't like the MM
There's no guarantees a razor will suit you, many may not, that's why there's so many different ones out there after all. Each one has some that like them, and some that do not.

Each one has some that like them, and some that do not. That's fair enough. Although I'm not a collector it's one razor, regardless of shaving qualities, I'd never get rid of. Thankfully I won't be tempted 'cause I think it shaves like a dream. By the way even if you find one for $50 you'd only have to hold on to it for a little while and you could sell it at no loss the way prices are with these things. You can always have a go with mine if you're interested. Who doesn't like MMs! There's gotta be something wrong with someone like that.
