Went to a swap meet today. Found 2 razors $10 each. The other is an unmentionable Kind of rusty handle but the head will clean up nice. This is my first Army kit. The head is the early 1914 with the small blade stops. Funny my other 2 1914’s are the small too. Guess what I will be shaving with tonight😁

For some reason I have always found the Army kits to be most appealing. Maybe because they just ooze potential history. If only razors could speak!

That is very cool. I came close to getting an Army kit once. Just missed it. I hope to get one one day, being an old Army guy.

Just trying to decide if I should hand wash the canvas. I don’t want to mess it up. But I would really like to get the rust stains off. Suggestions anybody?

But if the canvas seems to be do.id..no dry rot..I would say a hand wash would be ok. I carried mu Damaskeene military set as a travel razor for a while. Getting wet never seemed to hurt it.

Maybe a bit of dawn dishwashing liquid on the back, to test a spot first...That way you can see if does any good.

I just jumped in and went to town. Man did a bunch of dirt come out of it. Scrubbed it with a toothbrush. It smells nice but still has the rust stains. It is softer too. Glad I did it. Now to find an Auto Strop in the wild. 😀

The canvas is in really nice condition but there is no hint even of writting on it. Looking forward to the Valet Hunt!
