This is one that not much is said about, the Gillette injector. The best I can tell it was introduced in 1973 and was designed to use the Gillette Twinjector blades, I don't know how long they were produced. The one I have has a V2 date code, second quarter of 1975, and the blades are P3, third quarter of 1970. The razor is obviously very similar to the Trac II, it's pretty mild but I like the long handle. The Gillette injector blades are not very common, but are outstanding performers. I highly recommend them. Anybody else have any experience with the Gillette injector or blades?

I have never been near one so can't comment for you.

Wow, that's one brand name I thought I'd never hear mentioned on TOST! I had no idea Gillette made injector blades, let alone an injector razor. Very cool indeed!

I loaded the Gillette injector with one of the Personna twin blades this morning and got a great shave. The Gillette is kind of a mild razor but the Personna twin blades made up for that a little I guess, this is a combination I'll remember to use again in the future because I really like using this long handle injector.

Tom, I have a couple of these and they are outstanding. Unfortunately, I bought several Trac II's thinking that they were Injectors. It took about six months to finally find my first one. They get lost in my rotation because the Paul Revere, Dial Adjustable, etc seem to find there way to my hand first. doug

Congratulations Tom...Any razor that can use those Twin Injector Blades is a nice addition....Those are great shaving blades...You've got some great Injector hardware anyway....I want to see pics of all your Injectors....You've got a sweet collection.... And Dougr...I dig the EMS's too....I remember 'back in the day' if my Pop or I copped a pack of Personna Injector Blades it would mean....We waited til we were out of blades and the 7-11 or drug store was out of Schicks....and we'd cry about it too.... But I remember the Day my Dad told me he had bought some Personna Blades and said..."Man....I don't know when but Personna's gotten good."....lol Turns out we were witnessing the introduction of the Personna 74's....and Personna had gotten Good... Best ever!! Well now I thank Heaven for Personna...They make a great blade..all the EMS, Ted Pellas, Long's Drugs, and CVS's etc...That make it possible for us to keep getting these great Injector shaves....Some of their blades remind me of the old Platinum Plus...if not on shave 1 or 2...on shaves 3 thru 6 or 7 they are similar to the Plat-Plus....and I can dig that... And at there worse, they're still are as good or better than my favorite DE blades...

I've read that some guys have had problems with the twin injector blades clogging up but I've never had that happen. Then again, I don't have a caveman beard which probably helps. lloyd, I bought 5 or 6 of the EMS/TP injector packs from another Board BST and have been using them since. It was a reasonable deal. Now my wife and daughter have my spare Paul Revere's and are using up the EMS; my son in law has one of my adjustable Schicks. Where do you get your Personna blades from?
Tom, I recently had a skin cancer removed from my leg and shaved the area with the Trac II so the bandage would not stick to the hair. It did a great job and when traveling the Trac II or Atra always goes in my carryon bag for convenience and in case the luggage gets lost or delayed. And Dougr...I dig the EMS's too....I remember 'back in the day' if my Pop or I copped a pack of Personna Injector Blades it would mean....We waited til we were out of blades and the 7-11 or drug store was out of Schicks....and we'd cry about it too....

Below is the EMS product discription, order no.'s and contact info. Stainless Steel "PTFE" Coated 20 blades in a dispenser. 71990 Dispenser each 4.50 71991 Dispenser 10/lot 42.00 Phone: 215-412-8400 Toll Free: 800-523-5874 If you telephone them you can get really rapid service... Don't tell anyone, but I like Trac II's and Atras also...although I haven't used one or owned one in maybe 20 years or more...If I ran up on an all metal Atra handle or someone gave me one with some blades, I'd probably dig it....If I remember correctly it was a decent pretty effortless shave....I don;t think it was til after the Atra that I started to question if Gillette had our best interests and shaves at heart...
