I had my first shave with LaToja Shave stick today. I have seen it around for a long time, just not much. I got it in a trade with Cleave ( cpool222 ) along with two tubes of CTAPT (Russian for START). The LaToja is made in Spain, so it is my only Spanish soap. It face lathered very easily today with my badger brush and cold water. It has a very light pleasant scent unlike my other shave sticks: Arko and Derby. I will be shaving with it the rest of this week. On Amazon, it says: Made in Spain, with special mineral salts added for extra facial conditioning and performance, La Toja is considered by many to be the finest shaving stick in current production. Comes in a protective plastic case.

It is one of my favourite budget sticks, together with the LEA (the old, tallow version). Both bring back good memories of when I was living in Madrid.

Today was my second shave with LaToja, and it did not disappoint. Easy lathering, it provides plenty of protection and slickness.

...On Amazon, it says: Made in Spain, with special mineral salts added... I originally read this as, "mineral spirits," and thought 1) that jayaruh is one tough hombre, and 2) those La Toja folks probably get chased by bulls for fun. Thanks for the tip, Jim!

Since this is a Spanish product, La Toja ought to be: "Lah TOh-hah". The j has an h sound.

Got me some La Toja recently, but I'm on my Williams month. Scent wise La Toja reminds me of a weak Tabac scent. I like Tabac, so La Toja smells good to me.
Actually I have a couple new soaps that I've got queued up for when my Williams month is over. In the que are C.O. Bigelow, Nancy Boy, VDH Ultra - unscented and I got a vintage Surrey to try as well. And I need to make it back to the excellent morning TOST as well. So it's a good thing that for my 30 day challenge I picked something other than sticking to one soap.

La Toja ought to be: "Lah TOh-hah" Duhh. The J has the h sound. Thanks MOST of the time. A few years ago we were at a sports tournament my daughter was involved in. There was a team there called the Trojans. My daughter's school has a fairly large hispanic population, so she hears and sees plenty of Spanish. She says, "Oh the Tro-hans are here". I had a good chuckle and explained to her about the J not having the h sound this time. About 99 percent of the time she'd be correct.
