I got this Clubman Pinaud Classic Barber Shave Cream a while back and am just getting around to trying it out. This week I pulled it out for use, but when I found out that it is a non-lathering cream, I decided to use it as a pre-shave instead. So, after I rinse my face with cold water, I take a finger tip full and massage it into my beard. Then I load my brush with some Williams while I enjoy the barbershop smell of the Clubman SC. It is pretty slick. I haven't gotten around to using just the Clubman, but I will give it a chance one day. I just enjoy face lathering with a foaming soap/cream. Well, the Williams continues to do a great job of lathering. So far, they are working well together.

I threw mine into the garbage. The scent is nice. I think the shave soap smells the same.

It makes a nice pre-shave. Like I said, I will probably try a shave with it by itself, but I don't anticipate loving it. Same reason I am not turned on by shave oils. I like the lather.

I know a lot of folks don't like a cream that doesn't lather, but if I only grade on the quality of the shave, this stuff is great.

But I do like a lather cream. Maybe I will use the Starling and do a modern shave with it.

I like the brush and the soaps and creams that lather, but if I am honest I will admit some of my best shaves have come from brushless. I think it's the additional glide/slipperyness they offer. A big part of whether I like any soap or cream is how slick it is. Williams doesn't give me the best lather, or cushion, but it always has nice slickness, which for me is the 80 or the 80/20 rule.
