Ronson "Shaves and Sharpens" with box, cardboard outer and all the trimmings including two blades, one still wrapped. I saw one of those razors a week ago at an antiques market, but didn't buy it, because I don't buy razors I can't shave with and a quick google showed that it takes proprietary blades only. This razor was boxed, but had no paperwork and only one rusty blade. Back at home, I found this post on a Portuguese forum: www.barbearclassico.com/index.php?topic=10792.0Google translate convinced me that I could shave with this contraption. So I decided to go back to the dealer this week (he's only there once a week) and buy the razor. Then I found a much nicer one for about the same money on eBay and left the only bid. Now I have to wait. To pass the time I added some patents for this thing. The closest one is: www.razors.click/patents/US1966425/The razor has been discussed here: theoriginalsafety2.com/thread/1542/ronson-razor-on-deckI might be able to add to that thread when the wait is over. It just arrived and O.M.G. - this thing has never been used. The outer cardboard box is a bit faded, but everything else looks as if it was bought yesterday. I have an unmentionable pass around thing to deal with first, but shaves will follow. Cool looking piece! I've never seen a Ronson before. The blades are proprietary? Would you be able to post a pic with a Ronson blade next to an SE blade. Curiosity kills this cat...

Snagged an Ever-Ready lather catcher at an antique store this afternoon. There is no patent date, but it has an image of a man shaving on the lower left. The second part of the handle and the stropping attachment are missing, but for US$12, I'm quite pleased. As expected, every other razor was overpriced, and someone is selling no-name estate pipes for $50+. It is similar to the image in the middle of the top row of this post: theoriginalsafety2.com/post/33627/thread

Just got back from hunting. Found 2 things for $15. I can only show you one. The other is a Shapleigh Hardware Diamond Jubilee unmentionable in Original soft leather case never seems to have been used.

That’s a great looking travel brush. Any idea the maker? it is Crabtree and Evelyn Boar knot. Nice. I assumed boar from “pure bristles”. It is a good looking brush. I know some of the C&E brushes were made by Edwin Jagger. At any rate, it’s a looker and great bargain at that price. Enjoy!

it is Crabtree and Evelyn Boar knot. "Made in West Germany" dates it to pre-1990 and makes me wonder who made it for C&E... I scoured the interwebs for info. Your date range would certainly be correct. The later C&E offerings were made by Edwin Jagger but would not be marked “Made in West Germany” for obvious reasons. I can’t find anything hinting as to the maker. Probably not Muhle as the were in the former East Germany. Perhaps ERBE of Solingen??

All this came in the mail today. I did not order it or ask for it. It was a gift from a friend over at TSD. He is getting rid of the stuff he doesn't use and passed it all on to me. There are 10 AutoStrops including an A1 and four strops. They are all in great shape, too. There is an Ever-Ready 1924, a Gem 1912, a Star 1912, three Chrisys, a schick, an Edison, and one I cannot identify.
