It is a wonderful soap. I think that people that do not like it do not know how to lather. It is not that difficult. I have gotten Santa beard like lather from this soap.

I learned that from you Jim!

Day 6, not a great lather today, but slickery enough as usual. The recent talk of Santa lather made me see what I could do in that dept today. I got it good and thick and then I think I over watered it. I'm going to try a different tactic tomorrow, not going for Santa lather but going to load lighter and then do a longer face lather and see what happens.

Day 7 and last shave for this blade. I'm guessing it lasted about 8 or 10 shaves.

Another day on the Williams Wagon.
Today I loaded for 3 full minutes. Just slow easy circles over the soap. By the time I went to my face, I had very thick lather. I splashed a little water on my face and face lathered for another minute. It was nice, but I think I could have used less water on the face. Used my Lady Eversharp. The only downside to that is it has spoiled me for NOS injector blades. I like NOS, I think the ones I have are Schick Platinum, then the Pella/Personna blades and lastly the Chicks (Chinese made Schick) I can make due with the Pella, but won't be buying anymore of the Chinese Schicks.

My Williams Shave today (6-26-19): British A1 Autostrop | Modified Gem SS PTFE (4) | Modern Williams | Jayaruh #270 Synthetic | Krampert's Finest Frostbite Did something I had heard about and have been meaning to try, just dampened my face and rubbed the puck against it (like a shave stick) -- the Williams went on REALLY easily. Then I lightly dampened my brush and got a great face lather. I don't have any problem face-lathering Williams by loading the brush directly from the brush, but this was a fun and very successful experiment!!!

I don't have any problem face-lathering Williams by loading the brush directly from the brush, but this was a fun and very successful experiment!!! Yep. That works great. No problem lathering williams. What I would say about this, and I've thought about it more than once, is that when using a shave stick it would seem we use much less soap than when lathering in a bowl. I don't have a scale that would tell me if this is so or not. If it is, it would seem like I'm using much more soap than necessary. I'm going to assume that that is the case for the rest of my post. A few shaves a go, I used the puck on my face and got fine lather. In my shave today I loaded for three minutes straight, just to see the effect. Good lather, just much more of it than I needed. My normal loading off the puck is probably 20 to 30 seconds, but I'd bet that more soap gets on the brush than when I use the puck on my face. Using the puck on the face like a stick, or a homemade stick of Williams and having success rather puts to rest the myth of beating it like a rented mule I would think. Also it makes me wonder how much soap we really need.
