So I think I have answered this myself from the Schick Identification page. www.safetyrazors.net/schick/schicktech.htm But I need verification if the E2 was produced both with a spring that moved left to clean and a fixed spring. Both of these have the irregular striations and not the parallel grooves. They both have the round spring with flaps and patent number 1806087.

I believe the e2 opened. The E3 looked nearly identical (round flaps) but does not open.

I thought I already answered this... Yes Sir, you are indeed the proud owner of 2 bouncing baby E2s...The one on the left was the 1st Gen...the one on the right, the last Gen, before the G3s with the parallel blade guard grooves made the scene... Here is the middle Gen. That I have from a WW2 issued set... This one doesn't open either...but the spring is pinned on each side and the pinned end of the spring in shaped like the E2 that opens.. ENJOY EVERY STROKE, MY FRIEND!
