Not a fan of half unmentionable blade razors. If there only half unmentionable does that mean we can mention then sometimes?

So it don't count as an SE? I would say it does count per say, but most here aren't fans of them.

I see there are plenty of guys here playing around with the RazoRock ECO, same idea—single edge razor, half unmentionable blade.

I think we need a better name then a ½ unmentionable blade. After all fundamentally once split in half it is an SE blade and therefore not unmentionable (despite the opinion of some grumpy old men). I think IschiaPP coined the term Shade (single-edge half DE) which I like. Alternatively we could just say ½ brand name such as ½ Voskhod. Though I suppose in the context of using a ½ blade in a razor designed for such one could just use the brand name of the blade and leave it at that. Back on the topic of the Yaqi head. Kevy did a video and highlighted some serious QC issues.

Gentlemen, I've asked the Powers-That-Be for some clarity around this. Obviously these razors are not going away, and in fact they are gaining in popularity and numbers. So it would be nice to have some accepted and acceptable vernacular around these razors, and more specifically, the blades they use.

I think that some of these shade blade razors may help grow the SE community. Think about it. Lots of unmentionable shavers shun the SE world because they think the SE world lacks blade choice and the blade prices are high. Not true in my opinion, but that is the perception, and to an extent, the saying that perception is reality holds.
So consider the unmentionable user that gets one of these and his eyes are opened, he starts to wonder about other single edge razors and sooner or later owns something that uses GEM or Injector blades.
So while some may view these as new fangled razors a sort of unnecessary re-invention of the wheel, that could probably be said for most razors introduced from 1925 onward or maybe sooner. I think they may serve as on onramp to traditional SE razors.
