Thought you might like.... Interesting.
So the cord does compress the wood to hold the bristles?
Is that a vintage horse hair?

Thin wood will crack and open up and the brush will be done, the binding keeps everything together. Old paint brushes and brooms used the same idea. Some of the early shave brushes do appear to have been slit, then the hair installed with some kind of plaster looking stuff, and then bound tight.

What's wrong with this thread? Nothing wrong with this thread, I don't think. I forgot I made it and created another one with the same name. I changed it to "Civil War Replica Brushes redux." Sorry for the confusion.

I'm not dancing yet, thanks for asking. It has been hurting a bit lately, but I am getting around pretty well. It has been a little over 5 months now. When you get OLD healing takes longer I'm told. I am happy to be getting around.

Yeah, I got cleared, but I may go back just to be checked out again. I am scheduled for a colonoscopy Thursday, so I am waiting until after that. If I don't get any better, I may go back. I may need an injection or something.
