As we left of on our soap tails, we asked the question, "Can Speick Shaving Cream live up to its tallow stick brother?"
Manufature location: Germany
Ingredients: Aqua, Potassium Stearate, Potassium Palmitate, Potassium Cocoate, Glycerin,Sodium Stearate, Sodium Palmitate, Sodium Cocoate, Cera Alba, Potassium Myristate, Cetyl Palmitate,Sodium Myristate, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil, Valeriana Celtica Extract, Parfum, Potassium Laurate, Sodium Silicate, Sodium Thiosulfate, CI 15985, Limonene, Linalool
Positive aspects of the product (pros): Widely available. Lathers quite well and conditions extremely well.
Cons: The scent can be polarizing.
Price: 8. Oustanding product at a very good price point. I paid $6.50 USD for it.
Quality: Solid 10. This is a fantastic glycerin cream.
Scent: 8. This is a tough call. I love the Speick shaving stick. I have used it for years. The aroma from the stick is not as pungent as the cream. If you like the scent of Speick and lavender, this is a must try for you. If you a little put off on the scent of Speick, then you may want to look elsewhere.
Latherability: 10. The cream produced tons, and I mean tons of creamy goodness. In fact, I used way too much product. It took me a while to clean out my Omega Pro 49 brush.
Efficacy: 10. Slick, smooth as any soap/cream I have used. Reminded me of rink ice after it was smoothed by a Zamboni.
Moisturizing Properties: 9+. The genuine bee wax and glycerine derived from plants makes for a great feeling on my face.
Packaging: 10. Simple and attractive.
Scent aside, this is one special cream. I love that is totally pure with no preservatives. I am not a tree hugger, but a lover of the simple natural way of our forefathers. I will use this cream with grated Speick shaving stick to make and Uberlather. I can't wait. I think it is time for a shave.
