Is Mad Magazine even printed anymore? I wouldn't know...I lost touch with their subject matter after they dropped the Diz and Bird references,,,,ha,ha....I couldn't identify with them after that....Kind of like now I have a hard time getting excited with a razor that made the scene after WWI...lol...Lately I've been making excuses for razors from the '20s...I know they are too modern but that ER'24 was designed originally in 1909 so I let it slide.... And of course the Micromatics are cool because they were finished while Be-Bop was still Mainstream Jazz...

I remember that also. They did another like it called "Cool Casey at the Bat". It was great. Remember Maynard G. Crebbs? "You rang?"

I remember Maynard G. Krebs quite well. The Dobie Gillis Show wasn't it?

Yep..."The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" and Maynard was played by the cat who would later be Gilligan on 'Gilligan's Island', Bob Denver...I remember one episode where Maynard played trumpet in a Be-Bop group doing a battle of the bands...It's funny, Maynard was never really serious about music other than sometimes carrying around bongos but they never showed him like practicing trumpet like crazy. But on this episode he was playing like Dizzy Gillespie...lol...Whoever really did the trumpet playing wasn't a normal studio guy, he was somebody extra heavy...I also remember sometimes Warren Beatty played a rich kid in Dobie's High School...this show would be worth revisiting sometime.
