I personally tend to have a bad habit of acquiring razors - a sort of small time collector. I know other folks prefer to just pick them up for shaving with - a very practical approach.
Which are Ye? Collector, Shaver, or a bit of both??

I collect shavers. I do have a few NOS razors that have never been used, but for the most part all my razors are user grade stuff.

Hmmm. Everyone I know online that shaves has at least a small working collection. The 2 local gents that I've converted have their one razor and absolutely no interest in any others. They think I'm sorta nuts. They only rub shoulders with one AD enabler and not very often, so they haven't caught the bug.
When I was using a cartridge I looked at shaving as a chore, and frankly it was about as interesting as watching grass grow. I actually enjoy shaving now and look forward to it.
That brings me to the answer to the question. I have a small collection of working razors. Some are just too gorgeous for everyday use, but I bring them out for a shave every once in a while. I also have spares that don't get used since the razors I prefer have long since gone out of production. Yup, small collection, but nothing to shine and put on the shelf- they all get used. My collection exists to prevent shaving from becoming boring again. I never want to return to those days. Sometimes, rarely, I'll use the same razor two days running, but now that's extremely rare if it happens at all. It happened when I was learning, it hasn't happened in a very long time.

Well guys, I have overcome the ADs that many of you still have. That is all but the SBAD. Still look around for a vintage brush that needs a new knot and has a nice looking handle. Found one in November and now getting ready to send it along to a fellow wet shaver who has refurbed a few others for me.
Now my ADs are for things Cast Iron that I can cook in.

A bit of both I guess. I have dozens and dozens of razors, but have used each one, or will sometime in the future.
