Ooh! See this thread here which really throws the cat among the pigeons: badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/382612-US-and-British-ER-1912-DifferencesA guy there suggests that the real difference is in the frames - the original GEM frames and the 1930s Ever Ready frames are shorter and give a more aggressive shave than the 1920s GEMs. He further suggests that this is why the Damaskeenes and Brits are better shavers and that the curved or flat top cap actually makes no difference. This is an interesting take and I wonder what other members here think.
