PJ, I see that you request a picture as well? You do? Well, I won't fail to disappoint here is another one. It does look a bit similar then one I had posted before; however, it's got a new zest to it.

What a peach We've yet to see the underside of the box ... and the inside of the cap in all it's British Made-ness glory.

British Made ... you're clasping sheer class in your hands there, mate. Alas, if only it said "Sheffield Made" you'd be holding Yorkshire gold ... proper steel Looking at the box again, it's the same design that Ever Ready carried on for a good number of years ... my new 'Peerless' has the same design box, just clear on top and coloured blue on the base.

Strange, I just rubbed the under the 1912's top cap and look at what showed up! I am shocked! I do believe another picture is required.

MJ, my apologies I was kidding around with Paul. The ER 1912 actually reads "British Made" I just doctored the picture so that it would read "Sheffield Made" since PJ mentioned it would be better.

You're not getting it, are you?
GEM ...
Made in England?
Really? GEMs weren't made in England, Ever Readies were, but not GEMs. Apparently, this set came from a Canadian and so we surmise that the GEM brand was more readily acknowledged in North America, yet our Canadian cousins were happily buying up face scrapers produced in Britain and so ... we have a GEM, Made in England (not Britain, England) and exported to Canadaland.
... or so the believable story goes.

Some serious 1912 metal being flashed around in here!!
Wonderful to see so many variations at once - great photos.
I haven't really paid enough attention to the subtle differences amongst these razors. And I didn't realize there were such a number of them either.
Thnx for the great thread.
(I haven't seen one of those canadian ordered English GEMs up here myself. Nada.)

... are you a Canuck, RocketMan? Yeah, these 1912s are a mystery tour all of their own. Just when you think you have it all nailed, some curveball comes smashing through the window! What a ride

I can doctor up a photo to make the razor read "Gem British Made" or "Gem Sheffield Made" ... jk!
