Monday, February 6, 2012. Good Morning!Morning Coffee: Hills Brothers Original Blend Prep: Wash face with Musgo Real Glyce Lime Razor: Schick G1 Blade: Schick Soap: Proraso Brush: Omega 10005 Scuttle: Dirty Bird 1.5 Post: Cold water rinse followed by some Proraso After Shave I gotta say Johnny, I am a big fan of the way you put your SOTD together. The Prep and Post info is great - and in this particular shave love seeing the cold water rinse!! And, since I am so hooked on coffee in the morning - I would probably slice off my nose if I didn't have a cuppa before - it is also quite cool to see the coffee too! I find for me shaving is not routine - but ritual. It is pretty much my most relaxing, almost meditative, time of the day. I am pretty rigid in some ways with it, but like to tinker with certain elements, sort of like you are conveying here in your wonderful posts. Thanx for sharing! (great pic too)

Happy GEMruary! A month of the Gems with the 27th being the centennial of the 1912 patent. Using the DVH today & tomorrow so I can better review the new "Extra fris" version that I'll get tomorrow & shave with on Wednesday. A very smooth shave with a very close finish.

I am surely a creature of habit. After doing something every morning for 50+ years, you get stuck in your ways. About the only thing I change from time to time is the soap, brush, and after shave used. But, the one thing that never changes is my first cup of coffee in the morning.

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 - GEMruary! Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar Coffee: Locally roasted Panamanian w/ cream Lather: De Vergulde Hand "Extra fris" - face lather Brush: Vie-Long 13061 horsehair Razor: Gem OCMM Blade: TP Gem PTFE (5); 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum Happy GEMruary! A month of the Gems with the 27th being the centennial of the 1912 patent. What a wonderful shave this morning. The DVH "Extra fris" is excellent. It lathers just as well as the original, just with a slightly different scent. I'm very pleased to have been able to get one of these. Another new item today is the Krampert's Finest Bay Rum. This was gifted to me (thanks again ShadowsDad) and it is fantastic. Excellent repair and moisturizing which I've never had from a bay rum before. I didn't even need my post shave moisturizer. My skin feels super soft and smooth with zero irritation. Shave Rating - Splendidly Sublime! Another Single Blader! God Bless!
