I'm having a lucky flush ... £12 posted Today, I also bagged a bottle of Hai Karate (no, really) and a couple of other smells. Hai Karate is not at all bad - it's very much like Pinaud Clubman, more lemon on the opening and much more cooling on the dry down. Lovely, actually. If you can carry off Pinaud Clubman, you'll like this. Enough about that ... I got a RADIO! I'm a happy fellow today

Welcome to the Radio club my friend! I prefer the Radio over the standard (non Damaskeene) 1912 models. The blade rests a bit closer to the safety bar (at least on my Radio it does) giving me an easier close shave. The round knurled long handle is very comfortable to use. I have been unable to find any piece of information or picture to show what case it came in (if it did have a case).

RADIO FRIEND! ... which is going to fall flat on its face if you've not seen 'The Inbetweeners'.

LoL. Nope, I have not seen The Inbetweeners since I barely watch television. I am such a busy man having to tend to all of his fine collection of razors such as my Radio 1912!
I was about to get a second one until you sniped it from me you got 10 negative points!

Looking at the font, it is very unlike the Ever Ready font but ... checkout Sleddog's British Made GEM (I guess these were exports, presumably for Canada?): ... there we are, the self-same font.

Yes, so ... Looking at the font used might give us a better clue as to the age of the RADIO. The British Made GEM uses a font and styling that is not usual. As part of my recent acquisition of a GEM stropper, a Star blade was included. I guess if we can date the GEM and the blade we'll be most of the way there with the RADIO. ... unless it was one of those "produced from the '30s to the '50s" kind of things.

I thought I would revive this thread as I was looking through my razors and was reminded of this. I got this some time ago from the UK. I assumed when it came that the box was not correct as it has Gem on the outside and Ever Ready on the inside but as I was looking around researching I found on a UK site someone else had the same razor in the same box, thy thought it was the wrong box too. So, I believe it may be right. I haven't found much further info and would be interested to hear if anything new has been discovered since this thread in 2014 and if anyone else here has a boxed Radio. And here is a British made Gem that is easy to date, as above, that might help with the date/font thing

Aw geez. Now I need a Radio 1912 and an Open Comb 1912. Will this madness ever end? 😁
