Today after I shaved I splashed liberally with my Pinaud VI Bay Rum.....Well my wife thought it reminded her of her father's Dentist Office....Something mediciney...(in all fairness though, I had just splashed and the alcohol hadn't evaporated yet).....and she missed her favorite Aqua Velva Musk.....Hmmm
So I filled my palm with VIBR and added a few drops of Clubmans Classic, and a couple drops of AV Musk and slapped it on..A few minutes later she passed and said..."Ohhh theres my favorite...!"
So we both dug it....After 30 minutes or more heres what the drydown was like.....That beautiful Pinaud VI Bay Rum was the main scent but it was a little sweeter in a good way (left from the disappearing AV) ; and there was a nice powdery thing going on from the Clubman.....Actually it all came together for a great drydown and the powdery Bay Rum lasted for hours....
I'm not saying this will be my go-to, but it has opened my mind.....Now I'm trying to think of other cocktails....what have you guys got ?

Be careful there old man or we might catch a whiff of you all the way up in Canada!
I don't have much in the way of AS myself, but surely there are some ready and able mixologists around here somewhere?

Careful with all that experimenting! You don't want to cause an explosion or any kind of accident!

One of my more successful homebrew blends was 4 parts gin, 1 part witch hazel making up about 175ml. Into that went glycerine, grapefruit essential oil, lemon essential oil and a 25ml sample of Penhaligon's English Fern. Just right for a light fougere with the mossiness coming through after all the other scents are gone ...
Commercial blends: Selin Turkish Lemon Cologne & Alcolado Glacial for a lovely summer splash. High alcohol for drying in humid weather and lovely cooling.

That is some fancy stuff there PJGH. I typically try to go around not smelling like gin though. Maybe not a scent to wear to traffic court?
And yes Birdlives , your love of Pinaud dates you I'm afraid. : )

Ok my newest cocktail......this was inspired by Paul layering Lilac Vegetal with Trumper's Eucris...... 1 part Lilac Vegetal with 1 part Aqua Velva Musk......
After my Wife gets over her cold and discovers what I've done to the air in our house.....while her 'sniffer' wasn't working...ha,ha.....whew! Actually, according to my response, this combination was great.....After she get her sense of smell back I'll let you know how she likes it......I did notice, none of our neighborhood dogs seem to be around today......Thats unusual.......is that a good sign or bad?

I have a new one ...
I always like Brut Original - it's a great splash, just the right amount of floral without being girly and a good punch of moss to keep it masculine. Refined over the years to make a great aftershave that appeals to today's man as it did yesterday's man, but ... I'm more one of those yesterday's men and like a bit more bite to my aftershave, hence my love of Clubman.
Brut also make a body splash. This has a lot more alcohol in it, because who wants to be wet all over when you want to get dressed? Hmmm ...
Two parts body splash, one part aftershave and one part Alcolado Glacial to give the whole alcoholic slap in the face some chill!

My wife's favorite..... 1.: after shaving, a healthy splash of Aqua Velva Ice Blue to freshly shaved face... 2.: followed by 2 shakes Clubman Vanilla and 2 shakes Aqua Velva Musk with thumb over top so whole bottle doesn't dump, just a normal shakes worth comes out.... 3.: rub hands together with this elixir and splash.... WARNING !!! Women dig this!...I mean, REALLY Dig this !!....enough said! Be careful where you go and who you are around when you wear this.....I won't be held responsible....
