Did you find the date code on your Gillette? So after renting time on a scanning electron microscope I found the codes. A 6 ---1980? Geez, they were really tiny but I knew you knew so ....solved, Thank you.

They are hard to see, but I'm guessing it's not a 6, it should be 1,2,3 or 4 since that designates the quarter it was made in.

Likewise, I've looked, looked again, found a magnifying glass and looked yet again, but no date code. Gillette were renowned for date coding everything and it never crossed my mind to check this one for a date code, but I can't find it. I can't find on on any of my Tracs, either. Here it is on my Trac II that belonged to my father in law, just to show how difficult to see they sometimes are. I just wonder if it's hidden away somewhere on the injector that's really hard to spot.

Ha! There we are: V2 ... on my Trac-II. I am still at a loss as to where the date code is on the injector - I've looked with a torch, taken pictures, fiddled with the contrast, still nothing.

Bloody A 3 on mine(finally). @ Paul --it's on the very back of the bottom plastic plate--letter on one side--number on the other. Way easier to find Waldo.

Ahhhh ... okay, I have 6 on the left and A on the right, as the number and letter is usually orientated. That's on the plastic part ... ... upside down, so correctly orientated, it's 6A. That's a 6.

Are ya' sure. I thought mine had a 6 , turned out to be a 3 but same year, A-3. Having the Hubble would be helpful, I know.

Look for yourself ... that's not a 3 ... it's a 6. I can't do anything to make that anything other than a 6 (well, a 9, but that would make the A a V with a line through and there's no such letter as that).
