Has anyone tried to replate an injector razor? Could it be done? If so, any recommendations? I have a J1 that I would like to replate I think.
Or would I be better off finding a pristine model elsewhere?
Thanks folks

From what I know about plating, having a pal who has just picked up doing this, it's the pre-plating that might cause the most issues - the plating itself is just a case of the nickel, or whatever metal of choice, bonding to the metal parts of the razor.
Pre-plating, there is a quite a routine to go through which includes a dip in an acid bath. How strong that acid bath is becomes the point on contention - is it strong enough to dissolve or cause issues with the handle?
You can always give a re-plater a ring just to check.

If the razor must be disassembled in order to do the replaying, it would probably not be worth the attempt. It might not go back together satisfactorily. I would recommend finding another in better shape. They are not especially rare.
