It's good for a mouser to show they are working I guess. But not in the bed. Lo. Some cats like immediate gratification for a job well done.....They like to bring the dead mouse into the bed in the middle of the night and wake you up and show it to you...My niece's cat would rub the mouse on her face to wake her up....lmao! Lol. Gotta love cats!!!

My Best Ever Streamline Find ! Technically it is a Jewel, being in a metal case it was sold as such. As the catch on the case is stiff, the Razor Is almost mint. The case has no scratches, hard to believe how old it is.

I cannot comment on the Gem, But ER marketed the Chrome Plated Single Edge Razor, with different names according to the case. 1. Double Clamshell- Chrome Plated Single Edge & Stropper set 2 Single Clamshell - Streamline 3 Flat Lock Box-Ambassador 4 Steel Engraved Box- Jewel You may verify this by reading through the Thread from the beginning.

I am only asking because I am wondering if someone is prepared to put up the information to show that these things are accurate. Perhaps the advertisements that are referred to would conclude this and make it clear. : )

The Single Clamshell - The Streamline, according to advert shown in this forum under Ever Ready Streamline on 17 Mar 2012 Razor in flat Plastic lockbox- I own one and inside labelled as " Ambassador' Razor in Steel Box- assumed to be a Jewel, maybe someone has original cardboard box labelled thus. Irrespective of all above, everyone refers to that Razor as a "Streamline", some like it others do not. I happen to be able to get a good shave with one, so I like The Ever Ready "Streamline" or whatever it says on/in the packing box.

I happen to be able to get a good shave with one, so I like The Ever Ready "Streamline" or whatever it says on/in the packing box. I only brought the question because of the comment that the steel cased Ever Ready is a Jewel. I have no difficulty calling this style of ER razor a Streamline and in fact do. I am also aware of the Ambassador products ER put out. I am just wondering about the reasoning for the Jewel name being used - and this use has been around before as you suggest with reference to earlier posts. Poke around in some sites and you will find those who claim the Jewel is the American manufactured product by ASR, and a GEM and in a metal case or in a ...... etc So really, it comes down to questioning where is the verification that a steel cased ER is a Jewel. Because, I am just curious to see if someone will post information that will show this to be the case. I agree for many it is a fine shave and in the end you can really call it anything you please. I happen to enjoy the history related to these wonderful implements - and others do as well. YMMV It is intended merely as a friendly challenge.

As Rocketman says it will be interesting to see if anyone can come up with any Advertising Material/ Original boxes that confirms the common idea that the ER Streamline in the Shiny Steel Box , was sold as a Jewel set. This is the one in question.

Nice shave as usual with my ER Stropping outfit (Streamline) this heavyweight never fails in the shave. Nice light touch and let it glide.
