I just picked up an EverReady Mahoganite case with a really beat up GEM 1912 in it. I really got it for the case which is in really nice shape. No cacks, no chips and the hinges are intact and work great.
The question is, what kind of razors originally came in the Mahoganite cases?
I did quite an extensive search and found only a few examples but I found both 1914 and 1924 EverReady razors in them.
I would love to find a vintage ad featuring the Mahoganite case so I know what the set consisted of.
And while we're at it, if anyone has any sets with the Mahoganite case, let's see em!!

I'm intrigued - what does the mahoganite case look like? Got any pics? I'm guessing mahoganite is to mahogony as ivorine is to ivory, i.e. plastic

Here is my 1914 in a Mahoganite case. I took a chance on some really blurry eBay photos and ended up with a pretty nice set at a great price. And yes, "Mahoganite" appears to be some sort of plastic. Bakelite? --Bob

I just came across a 1924 Shovel Head in a Mahoganite case on EBAY ! Mahoganite was an early plastic Bakelite like material....The 1924 Shovel Head in the Mahoganite case that I just saw on EBAY has a different moulding inside the case to accommodate the difference's in size and shape of the 1924 shovel head.........
This would suggest that both the 1914s and 1924s were being sold in this particular box......

Waits' makes first mention of Mahoganite in 1921 and by 1925 (when the 1924 razor really got pushed with a lot of fanfare), it's still just the 1914s he pictures. Like Fergie, I've seen a 1924 in such a case, so a fairly educated answer would be: 1914 & 1924 razors.

I snagged one recently, but also I got this 'Speedster' 1924 in cabinet wood case, which pair with it well ...
