Have shown them on other site. Pleased you are now liking Streamline now, I too find it slightly different to handle than other ERs. Am thinking of trying your Sevette idea, If i can find someone with appropriate tools. Regards- Mike B

... and there we are. Brilliant! I'm now going to question whether my Brilliant is a Brilliant (being purple inside) or just damn shiny

What do I win? So, with the Streamline well and truly turfed out of that Brilliant case (bloody interloper ... all posh and thinks he owns the place ) ... I guess the Streamline is surplus to requirement and so, by proxy, my prize?

I am sure you have kept one / or more in your Stache. Mike B

I guess the Streamline is surplus to requirement and so, by proxy, my prize? No Paul. The satisfaction of good razor box identification is YOUR prize. The Streamline plus a nice Ever Ready Brilliant Set is MY prize. One day I'll tell you the story of how I acquired it, and when I do you may very well cry with laughter

So for bonus points, riddle me this - what set does the other box that came with this haul belong to? Basket weave case with purple lining: When it arrived, the Streamline handle was in the Brilliant case with the 1912 head on it, and the 1912 handle was in the basket weave case with the Streamline head on it. Imagine my delight when I swapped the handles

It'll be a case for a double edge razor, a Gillette clone. Either side of the handle should be a match striker blade case. Are there tell-tale signs of an open comb on the base? Any faded Gillette logo on the inside of the lid? Fairly generic, I'd say ... I've seen them with Gillettes and seen them with all manner of Gillette clones. I've also seen this case with a couple of DE blade cases and a 1912 in the middle. I might even have been this one ... I do look at a LOT

Like PJGH said. A Metal box with purple cloth was used for razors almost everywhere over quite a few years. Are there marks of any kind?
