After all these years, I gave Williams some love last night. All through swirling the badger on the puck's face, I could hear my dad say, "That is nothing but condensed cow sh.." Anyway, I soaked both the brush and puck together in hot water. I drained the water and proceded to build lather, which was quite easy. I felt the lather. I was slick but I added some Cremo to build a superlather. The combination worked very well and with the MMCP, I had a very good shave. Is Williams a favorite, not by a long shot, but it is definitely in my rotation now.

Been using Williams for ages. Cheap, serviceable, I like the clean scent it also lasts quite a long time too. Lathering Williams is easy I've done it with hard water and a cheapo VDH brush. When I grate it with VDH Glycerin I get great results.

Every time I use it I wonder why I want it out of my cabinet. Of course I want some room back is the reason. But I have a feeling that wghen other soaps are out of my cabinet and I have room again it will be back. I FAR prefer the VDH/Williams combo than either one by itself.

Absolutely, the VDH & Williams hybrid (which I refer to as VanderWilliams) is fantastic. I literally grate both (with a cheese grater) and press it into a puck form using a mango wood cup. In my area I have hard water but when I use soft water the mix is even more creamy thick and slick.

I call it the same thing. It wasn't my idea. I stole it.
After grating the Williams and mix the VDH in with it then nuke it a bit. Don't leave it, it won't take long for the VDH to melt. The Williams won't melt, so it'll be like Rocky Road in use, but the VDH acts to glue everything together and settle it.

Williams when mixed with Arko isn't bad either but not as good as Arko Straight Up...No reason to buy Williams to make the combination, but I've combined them to use up some Williams I already had...

I can't believe it. Six pages of posts for Williams Mug Shave Soap? I know it is a decent soap that I do not really care for but Six pages of posts for this stuff! Amazing! As you can see, we are an odd lot; who are easily amused.

And join the club. You can always mix it with Cremo for a unique olfactory experience. As I noted to ShadowsDad, the aroma was something like a hell spawn offspring of the Ty-D-Bol mated who mated with Mr. Clean.

And join the club. Now Fuzzy don't be so harsh with me on the Williams topic. I don't use soaps that much and when I do I love to use the few that I have. Does not mean that I don't like Williams like I do a particular GEM razor. I just don't chose to use Williams. Just amazed at the absolute love for Williams here at TOST, that's all.
