It's Williams Wednesday!!!Soap: Williams AS: Krampert's Finest Bay Rum Acadian Spice Razor: One Blade Brush: Jayaruh 210 How do you like the Onebkade razor? It is very efficient, but I hate the FHS-10 blades. It also teaches you really bad technique as it likes some pressure. That's my take on it mayer57619 may feel differently.

I love some Williams! I have lots of different soaps in my rotation but Williams gets used more often than any of them. I love that it's old, I love the scent, I love shoving a fresh puck into the bottom of my mug...I just love it. Consistently an exceptional lather and solid performer.

Williams Wednesday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Williams Mug Shave Soap Tom's 3D Printed Brush Supply V2 Personna CWR Lilac Vegetal My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with Tom's 3D Printed Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the Supply V2 razor with the three dot plate and a Personna blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Lilac Vegetal After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

mayer57619 I like it. When I first got it, I didn't for a couple of reasons. Too much work to get a close shave and very poor blade life. Blade life still isn't stellar. I get two nice shaves and can push it a bit more, but two shaves per blade is probably the sweet spot for me. Many don't like this razor because of blade cost, or the fact that it, horror of all horror, sin of all sins... PIVOTS. Yes that's right it PIVOTS. Something that would probably be hailed as an improvement EXCEPT by a community (not speaking of us here in specific, but wet shavers in general) that abhors "improvements" when it comes to razors. Well there are improvements, in fact this forum is about improvements. If it were not, it would be a forum for straight razor users because safety razors were certainly and improvement over straight razors. Where one wishes to draw the line on acceptable and unacceptable improvements is up to them. [steps off soap box and gets back on topic] To get a great shave from this razor you need to push hard enough that if you were to get off angle, it will pivot A close shave REQUIRES a little pressure. Most safety razors require much less pressure. That is one reason my first shaves were not very good. The other thing is that by pushing the head to your face, you lock in the correct angle. This helps get the most life out of these blades as little as that is. If you want a razor you can get a quick two pass dfs+ with and no irritation, this razor shines. It's not likely to deliver a BBS all over except for the person with a very fine beard or a lot of time on his hands. You should be able to pick up one on sale for around $20 or so.

Shaved with a Shovelhead and a Gem PTFE.

4 days growth had no chance against the Williams and a Schick N. There is a video but as usual this blasted iphone is fighting me on uploading it.

25/12/2019 Williams WednesdayPre: Pears Transparent Original Brush: Jayaruh #355 Soap: Williams Mug Shaving SoapRazor: Kampfe HR -14B (#2) Original Handle Blade: Personna GEM PTFE (4) Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, Homemade Astringent Balm: Bart's Balm Amber and Moroccan Jasmine Balm & Lotion Aftershave: JPG Le' Male' A very satisfying Christmas Morning Shave using my "back from the grave" Kampfe which i cleaned up after buying it for buttons (I am calling it my #2). Using the Williams i resurrected my Old Wade scuttle (although the puck is dwarfed in the soap dish top - re think required). A good loading with the damp JR#355 brush and a face lather, i had a nice covering in no time. 2 passes WTG & XTG with the lather Catcher leaving me with an SAS finish (still learning with angle etc to go ATG), however its Christmas so i completed a buffing pass using a very smooth unmentionable. The brush held enough soap for 3 passes plus and the lather held up really well. Nothing from the block and a nice post shave routine has set me up for a busy day ahead visiting and socialising. So, its on with the Christmas Jumper and the festivities can start. Have a great Christmas All
