Launched at the end of the '40s, the Ever Ready Deluxe set was presented in a heavy plastic clamshell case. The head is the celebrated British 1912, fabled for giving a more aggressive shave than the American counterpart yet still as smooth as the 1912 has always delivered. The handle is a heavy metal with a chain mail pattern. Later sets can be found with the same lightweight aluminium handle as found on the British Peerless sets into the '50s. To me, they have a certain reminder of the Streamline sets:

Greetings Now I understand the reason why, when I tried a NOS Corrux blade it gave me a crap shave; I bet it had only been stropped 4839 times! Regards Dick.

That is a lot of stopping. I imagine a gang of old guys in the corner stropping blades. Those are great looking sets. Love the old adverts. Thanks a million for posting.

Those colors are terrific. Particularly all lined up for a work weeks worth of shaving. Are those your sets Paul?

That is my little collection of these sets, yes. There is one other that I've seen: a black base with white lid. It's not beyond possibility that there was a green one, too, given the choice of colours from the older '30s clamshell sets.

They really are stunning together like that. If the other two ever materialize for you, you will have a seven day set. : ) Very nice to see theses like this. Thanx for sharing!

I've passed up on a couple of the black/white sets which were not quite right or not quite complete. The green one is a wild guess. I didn't know there was a grey one until I saw one, so anything is possible. One thing I have come to learn with collecting ASR gear is never ever say you've seen 'em all

I've also seen adverts for this razor at 6' (rather than 5'3) above, while the Streamline cost a whopping double that at 11'6. For extra special sets, wait 'til Christmas: For 8' you get the Deluxe with a pack of playing cards! ... but look at that Streamline stropper set for 21'!

If I sell something unexpectedly, I think I'll treat myself ... I'll ask the shop first if they'll do me a deal for the five.

Now that I know there's a brown one, there's probably a cream one ... and most definitely a green one. Eyes peeled, men. I must have the rest!
