I've been using one blade/razor for 7 days then I switch to a different razor with a new blade. I've been using a 1912, 1914 or the 1924 for a awhile. I've neglected my OCMM & Clog-Pruf's. I need to get them back in the rotation.
In the meantime, I'm going to use my OCMM tomorrow to break it up, then next Monday I'll use the Clog-Pruf.
If anyone else wants join in....
Joe

It looks like our members here fear commitment! : ) I didn't follow up since no one responded. Well, I had a great shave with a new SS blade in the OCMM. I went back to the 1914, once the week ends, I'll have to pick another razor for the week. Next Monday I'll use the Clog-Pruf with the blade from the OCMM. The OCMM can be rough for some, but I had no trouble with it. My 2013 R41 was always tugging at me at whatever angle I tried it with. The Micromatic was smooth as can be.

ATG the paper thin blade always struggled.

Gawd, if I give up Mondays to the Micromatic that's only 6 days for the 1912! What's a chap to do? Neat idea, if you're into the Micromatic. I dedicate certain days to fragrance: Monday gets Old Spice, Thursday is Quorum, Friday is Tabac.

The SE blade works much better for my beard.

I'm beginning to realize, most SE's are good for me. I like the OCMM, 1912 and the 1914 the best so far. The 1914 might be top dog for now. All I know is that I'll keep a couple of my DE's, but most of them are going to new homes soon. Have a great weekend!

The thing with the R41 is, it's probably the most aggressive double edge razor folks today are going to use. Wardonia made really good razors for proper men, huge blade gap and the blades were quite rigid, but today they can only be used with modern blades which have to be customised with a hole punch as the pegs on the head and baseplate do not quite line up with today's razors. So, the R41 remains king of the DEs and has a reputation to boot ...
Come over to SE shaving and quite probably even an American made 1912 would laugh in the face of an R41.
The Micromatic is a funny beast in that modern SE blades are not quite thick enough in the spine to get the original angle just right. Add half of a modern spine underneath a modern spine in a Micromatic and it's a transformed razor - it's aggressive AND smooth.
I like the Micromatic, but it's the earlier ones without the nubs on the baseplate. To me, that about brings it up to a mid-30s British 1912 in terms of closeness and smoothness of shave.

I hear you on the 1914s, telefan. I like the 1914 a LOT. I have quite a collection of 1914s but tend to err on the later ones, the mid-'20s in the nice cases as my more regular shavers.
DEs? I don't shave with them. They've all gone. I say that, but I actually have an extensive collection of Gillette Techs - I like Techs; I like them as objects. I don't (generally) shave with them, but I do have one rule of providence and that's if someone drops a DE blade into a parcel for me, say I bought some soaps or something, I feel duty bound to shave with it and so pull out my '40s British Techs to see the blade through. Last such fun and games was a vintage EverSharp blade which was seriously smooth. They don't make DE blades like they used to ...

I have 100 SE blades and I'll be ordering more blades for sure. I'm going to keep my birth year super speed, a red tip and a LC new that was my daily razor before I tried the 1912. After that, the DE's were done.
