SOOOOOOOOOO......
Along with a nice Micro Matic flying wing that was in the mail box today I also got some of this wonderful aftershave. After a great MM shave I splashed on some. This stuff is great. I am not good at describing scents at all. All I can say is the scent is different from the virgin Island bay rum I have been using. Much more refined. My skin feels great too. I give it two thumbs up at the least.

I'm resurrecting this thread to put in my 2 cents. I recently had a chance to try Krampert's Finest Bay Rum After Shave, and enjoyed it so much, I had to give my thoughts. Before I start, let me just say that I am far from an experienced A/S user; the last time for me was in the mid 80's -- I don't even remember what it was...think it was Brut.
My typical post shave routine is just a cold water splash, dry my face, use some Thayers Rose (Witch Hazel), let it dry and then put on some moisturizer. This particular shave I did a 3-pass shave, used my Thayers for a touch-up pass (a little something I picked up from Fuzzy), let my face dry while cleaning up my equipment, then splashed on the KFBR.
Feel of the initial splash was a quick sting on some of my tender/tricky areas (lower neck). The sting wasn't harsh or even very long, maybe 2 seconds. Then there was a slight warm feeling on my skin, which was also short-lived (less than a minute). After that, my skin just felt smooth and relaxed. There's no oily feel at all, and my skin actually felt more nourished than when I use my moisturizer.
As for the scent, I really like it. I like light, non-cologne fragrances. While I don't have a lot experience with A/S or colognes, I do like the scents of these shave soaps: Cella, Haslingers Schafmilch, La Toja, and Men's Soap Company Bay Rum. The Bay Rum shave soap scent is nice, but frankly, this bay rum is even better. The scent is a nice mild spice with a definite undertone of rum. This scent is stronger on the initial application, then it fades to the background. But the really nice thing is while it fades to the background, it's still there in a nice subdued way -- lasted for hours.
In addition to the face-feel and really pleasant scent, I like that the ingredient list is short and that I can pronounce the items on it. Bottom line is I always figured an alcohol-based A/S would be drying, and potentially so strong smelling it would wear like a cologne...maybe some A/S are that way, but this one is not. Having looked around at other reviews, I see I am far from alone in being a big fan. If you're looking for an A/S with an amazing scent that makes your skin feel great post-shave, you have got to try Krampert's Fine Bay Rum.

Flintstone, I suppose now after this wonderful review I need to just go ahead and get some. I am in a bit of an A/S cologne phase now, so I will make sure to add this higher up on my list.

Not being alcohol based is a huge plus for the Kramperts!
