Monday morning:
Hot towel face prep Vitos SIS Simpson Special pure badger VAS VC1 Feather SE blade (10 and canned) bay rum
A darn good shave, but I probably should have canned the blade after the last shave. It isn't my closest shave ever and far from the most comfortable. I walked away w/o any blood so I guess it was OK.

- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated GEM SE Injector (shave 4)

Tuesday, March 13,2012 Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar Lather: RazoRock XXX - face lather Brush: Semogue 820 Razor: Gem OCMM Blade: Ted Pella PTFE (4); 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest bay rum First go with the Semogue 820 that I received yesterday. This thing brand new gives me a new appreciation for boar brushes. Out of the box it completely blew away my other boar, a Semogue 1250. I can't figure out why the 1250 doesn't work this well, but I really enjoyed a great lather from the 820 today. I think I'm going to be in boar break-in mode for awhile now but I think I'll enjoy it. Had a little burn from the shave today as I tried a different technique with the OCMM. I think I'll return to a more conventional technique next time. Still an excellent result as the bay rum really calmed things down quickly.

Tuesday 3/13
Razor: GEM Micromatic "Bullet-tip" Blade: GEM Stainless Brush: Vintage Stanhome Badger/Boar Lather: Godrej Deluxe Lather Cream Post-Shave: Alum, Lucido A/S From Japan, Aloe Vera Gel
Result: DFS+. Haven't used an SE for a while. Great to be back. Even though the blade was on its last shave (5 or 6 shaves?) the results were very nice.

Tuesday morning:
Cella SIS Omega 10019 boar My POS OCMM GEM SS ptfe (11) bay rum
For such a POS razor, it sure does give a fantastic shave! ;D
The Cella I fear will never be a great soap for me. I'll try it again tomorrow, and I'll withhold further comments until then.

Needed a great shower and even better shave after waking up and making a gallon of "Creamless Creamy Tomato Basil" soup for my lovely wife to take to a party at her work today. So here it is, the SOTD not the recipe! ;D
- Prep: Hot shower and hot towel
- Soap: The Great "FAT"
- Brush: ER 200 Boar
- Razor: '73 Stick Schick Injector
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated injector (shave 5)
- A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner
- EDT" TSD Bamboo and Teak EDT
- Result: Ooooo! BBS shave today despite a rather thin MWF lather. I was loading the brush with the FAT and it slipped out of my hand and into the sink filled with water. Shook out the brush but did not get it a dry as I wanted. Continued to load and started the first pass lather. Got it okay but just a bit thin. Still the lather performed great. Did load a bit more soap for my second pass. Gotta hand it to the folks at Mitchells their soap performs great under all circumstances.

1912 Gem Junior Gem Blue Star Blade (5) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Palmolive Shave Stick Vi-Jon Ivy Club Spice
How was the Blue Star CS blade after five shaves? Well, even though today's the Ides of March, I'd have to say it was far from "the most unkindest cut of all" (apologies to Wm. Shakespeare)! In fact, it was pretty decent. Nevertheless, I'm going with a new blade tomorrow as well as a new razor. Since there has been so much discussion lately about the efficiency of a lightweight razor, I'm going with my much neglected friend the FW tomorrow.
