Managed to bag one of the new Stainless Steel Generals today from Colonial Razors. It sold out in 5 minutes. I tried but was unsuccessful. They sold out while I was in check out. I went back later and got the black aluminium razor and the SS handle. Then I was told after that across the street that Colonial would release some more later. Oh well. This will be my second new none vintage razor and my first new SE.

In triplicate.

Mine is here. At six days, that was a few days quicker delivery than my Brass General. At 120.4g it's about 8g lighter than the brass with a similar balance point. As I love the brass version, I know the SS will be a pleasure to shave with.

With it being fairly close weight to the brass version, I suspect it to shave similarly. It will have its debut on Tuesday.

Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 28mm Faux Finest Badger, Frank Shaving(FS) Soap: The Lounge, Stirling Soap Co Razor: Black Aluminium General, Colonial Razors Blade: Kai Pink, Kai Captain Titan Mild (1) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse, OSMA Alum block and Lilac Vegetal AS (Veg), Pinaud Photo: Today was the first use of the new Alu General. I paired it with a Kai Pink blade. This is only my second "NEW" razor since I started wet shaving seven years ago. I have only used vintage razors for the past nine months. After using the Valet for the past two months this shave was effortless. I now know way others love this razor. It is lighter and the head is bigger than what I am use to but neither of this two issues where able to prevent me from a three pass BBS shave. Honestly this was one of the best shaves I have had in a long time.

Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 28mm Faux Finest Badger, Frank Shaving(FS) Soap: Pipe Smoke, Uncle Jon's Shaving Soap Razor: Black Aluminium General, Colonial Razors Blade: Kai Pink, Kai Captain Titan Mild (2) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse, OSMA Alum block and Lilac Vegetal AS (Veg), Pinaud Photo: Shave number two with the Al General and just as before another effortless BBS shave. Today I did two passes, ATG & XTG. Back in 2015-2016 before I found my way to the world of SE razors, I was wet shaving with an unmentionable type razor. Now I had been using that razor for about 5-6 years and had got to the point where I could do a single ATG pass and achieve a DFS. The point of this little flash back is that I do not think it would take much to get to that point with this razor. I absolutely love this razor. I plan on getting the SS model when and if Colonial Razors re-release it, I have heard that there is a good chance of that happening. Is there any one out there that have used the General and have also used RazoRock's Black Hawk? I am thinking about picking up the Black Hawk next just due to the price point of $29.99.

Can you talk abit about that soap? What kind of scent? Well Fuzzy, on Uncle Jon's web site it describes it as "Our Pipe Smoke scent is a warm, spicy scent that combines a cherry pipe tobacco with a hint of vanilla." After getting the soap and using it, it didn't smell like I had hoped it would. I think it smells more like Blades Grim Smolder. It is a good lathering soap with a good slickness and cushion. All around pretty good soap. It was just not what I was hoping for in the scent department. Uncle Jon's Gravity Shaving Soap has a better scent IMHO.
I would be willing to trade the Pipe Smoke if someone wanted to try it out.
