22 DecemberPre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: Brush X 24mm Horse, GarnerPW Soap: Lavender, Castle Forbees Razor: The General(Black Al.) w/ SS Handle, Colonial Razors Blade: Kai Pink (4) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse, OSMA Alum block and Lilac Vegetal Aftershave, Pinaud Photo: Due to a last minute lineup change in my setup this morning I went with The General as I was wanting a Baby Dolphin Butt Smooth( BDBS) Shave. So I went with the equipment that I knew would give it to me and after three passes that is what I got. Though to be honest I am on the fence about getting the SS model on the 25th when it is released again.

29 DecemberPre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: Brush X, Horse, GarnerPW Soap: Gravity, Uncle Jon's Shave Soap Razor: The General, Stainless Steel, Colonial Razors Blade: Kai Pink (5) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse, OSMA Alum block and Wild Country Aftershave, Avon Photo: The SS General come in the mail yesterday, so I HAD to use it today. Just like the black aluminium one the SS one gives an effortless BBS shave. After two passes I am just that, effortlessly BBS. The only negative thing I could say about the razor is that it is heavy. No I mean really heavy. I have the Black Al General that I found to be a little light so I put a SS handle on it. That made it pretty good on weight. Now it may be that I'm just not used to the weight of the razor but I think I will put an aluminium handle on it for the next shave.

30 DecemberPre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 24mm Silvertip Frank Shaving (FS) Soap: Tobacco, Dirty Deeds Soap Razor: The General, Stainless Steel, Colonial Razors Handle: RazoRock Halo Ring Aluminium Blade: Kai Pink (6) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse, OSMA Alum block and Virgin Island Bay Rum Aftershave, Clubman Photo: I switched out the handle on the SS General for the handle that came on my RazoRock Black Hawk. It makes the razor very top heavy. Still though, it delivered a DAMN FINE BABY BUTT SMOOTH three pass shave.

You are truly enticing me with these General positive comments... hmmmmmmm I am considering as a New Years resolution a complete migration to single edge shaving with only an exception to unmentionables that rime with eight and need honing. I’ll use what I get with the sale of my other unmentionables to get one General. Which do you recommend to start with?

Right now there is none available from the manufacturer Colonial Razors. They make them in small batches that sell out quickly. I would most definitely recommend a General Razor. The easiest BBS shave I know.

Rarely do I use a two sided thingie.

On the Colonial Razor web site they say they are QC'ing the next batch of SS razors. Down side is, they upped the price to $99 USD.

Was just on their site and like the looks of it and I like heavy razors. Not so much the price though especially for something machined in China.

It is the one razor I can get a BBS shave every time and not think about it. If you like heavy razors then the SS model is the one you need. For me The General is a must have. As far as me being an enabler..... That is what I'm here for. You are Welcome.

I have to be able to blame someone else when the wife finally pays some attention to how much hardware and software I actually have like she did recently. I was carping about the price of some vintage wall phone she was suggesting I might purchase for her when she mentioned that maybe she should photograph and catalog the many razors and soaps and AS I have and do a little research into how much I have spent.......I quickly said "I was just fussing about.....which one did you say you liked honey?"

I am sure she is curious but she knows I dont spend much on myself otherwise and I nixed the idea of buying a nice fishing boat or upgrading to a nice vault style BBQ pit in the recent past and either would have costed a good bit more than my razor hobby. She was on board for those things so I guess you could say she was just "putting me in my place" as they say.
