Love it or hate it they are here to stay. How about some love for the OCMM. I have several sets. This is one that came from a family member. I am not sure the razor was the one in the case, but the case complete with the blade boxes came from the Estate of a Great Aunt. I imagine that it belonged to one of my Great uncles. That's nice having one from a family member. I've got four, one gold and three chrome models. I do like the OCMM a lot, not many others are as flat out efficient as they are. I have a relative on my wife's side that got one when he was in the Army during the 50's and said he used it well into the 70's or 80's until one of the blade stops broke off or wore away. He was surprised how many are still available and how many nutjobs like us are tracking them down and using them!

Nut jobs huh? That about sums it up. Family razors are great I have a Gillette that was my Grandfathers.

The only family razors I have are a 1960 Fat Boy and a 1980 Trac II that belonged to my father in law. He has always treated me wonderfully so they mean a lot to me.

I only recently acquired an OC Micromatic. I have never been partial to picking one up on eBay and wanted to wait until I found one 'in the wild'.
Well who knew how long that was gonna take? Yikes!
But, I have it in the stable and all cleaned up and ready for use.
I will report in the next week or two when I get a chance to give it a proper go. (So many razors....so little time!)

I can't believe it's taken you this long to get one. I really think you'll like it.

The OCMM was my first Micromatic and I was very apprehensive when I started my first shave, due to its reputation as a blood-letter. I was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful shave.. and was subsequently nipped for my overconfidence on my second shave I like the OCMM and I'll re-visit it soon. Question for members with both the OCMM and the Schick Injector E-type... Which would you say is more aggressive? I just got a E-type and it nicked me worse than I've ever been nicked! My G-type is gentle as a lamb...

I don't have an E-type injector. But no other safety razor that i do own is more aggressive then my OCMM. I include the DE stuff in that.

The OCMM is the more aggressive of the two for me. I'm noticing a lot of variance in how the various injectors shave, even in the same types. You mention a big difeerence between the E and G and they should be the same since they have the same head, but I can tell a definite difference between the models I have. I don't know if it's because some are more worn than others or if it's because of different manufacturing tolerances over the years or what. I look forward to using my OCMM in the morning before church. I've been testing DE blades all week so now I can't wait to see how this compares to a Feather blade. Just thinking about it makes me wonder why I was even away from it for an entire week.

That's the longest I've been away from an SE since I found them 7 months ago. I am expecting a splendidly sublime shave in the morning though. All those blades to test just take so much time.

That is true. That is one thing some people do not like about the SE is the limited blade choice. I have never seen it as a problem the available blades all seem to do good. Well except for some Korean stuff they sell local here. Those do not shave warm butter.
