That is true. That is one thing some people do not like about the SE is the limited blade choice. I have never seen it as a problem the available blades all seem to do good. Well except for some Korean stuff they sell local here. Those do not shave warm butter. Just what are you doing with hairy butter?

Well - I made the leap to the OCMM! Not a bad shaver at all. It does indeed live up to its reputation as an 'aggressive' frame. In my opinion there is no comparison at all to the Schick injectors - the Schicks being much milder IMHO. Let me post a pic of my weapon from today: That undoubtedly be the chromium plated OCMM y'all have talked so much about. I have read in other sites that this razor is 'not for newbs'. I must agree with that as well. This frame puts the blade very close to the skin with lots of exposure. I had a couple of small little bumps/inflamed spots on my face. I can repeat here that I ' had'. Smooths the skin right down! lol I found I had to 'hold on and concentrate' - something I haven't had to do quite as intensely for some time. My stubble was a few days in, as I like to leave a good crop for a Sunday shave when I am able. I could tell during the first pass that if this instrument was wielded in a carefree fashion, or by utilizing overly long strokes, there could be h*ll to pay! It indeed does its job with full authority!! Second pass was wonderful. Very close shave with a lot of control. I even went for a third as I was having so much fun! I got a very good shave from the chromium OCMM this morning. The 'aggressiveness' did leave my skin feeling like it had been through a wee bit of trauma however. Slightly redder than usual (3rd pass eagerness perhaps?) and acutely aware that it had just been groomed. But, all in all, I was quite impressed!! I have to give this 3 blades!!

Sorry about that Brian, well, almost anyway. Yeah, it takes time! I've been testing blades since last February or March, I thought I was about to be able to relax and just enjoy shaving with my old friends, and then I received another batch of vintage blades to test. I really can't wait for this blade testing to just end. I do have one SE blade that I rotate around the various razors to give me a break from the testing. I haven't tested many SE blades, but the ones I have tested/used so far have been uniformly great. Who needs a selection when the blades are so good? So far I've used GEM SS ptfe (Ted Pella 121-3) and CVS GEM carbon steel, and whatever Rite-Aid carries. I even tested one until I didn't want to use it anymore and I got 18 shaves from it. I probably could have gotten more, but I was getting bored. BTW, the latter shaves weren't as good as the first 10 or so, the blade just wouldn't misbehave for me so I kept using it. RocketMan, what you did to bumps on the face, I did to a scar on my head when I used one for head shaving. It just took the high spots off of it. No blood, just a surgical reduction done at home. It sorta gives me the willies now to think about it, but at the time I thought it was all right!

I took a GEM blade from Ted Pella to 16 shaves once... once. As you said, I could probably could have kept going a while, but didn't really want to. I might keep pushing a blade some time, or not

...This frame puts the blade very close to the skin with lots of exposure.... That's what I like about the Micromatics. My wiskers are wiry and wascally--especially the grey ones--and they grow along my skin. The OCMM makes quick work of the shaving shenanigans!

The OC Micromatic is one of the only razors that I have used, that doesn't require me to make a third pass. ;D If Chuck Norris shaved, this would be his razor of choice. Not a wimpy straight. ;D

The E model (only one pat. number, bakelite vs. plastic handle) is much more agressive than the G, with a bigger blade gap.

I guess I should have been a little more specific. I have only tried an E model Schick and find them to be great shavers. I guess I refer to it as mild because, quite frankly, it gives me excellent shaves without hardly any nicks or troubles. I don't use them often however as I just feel like I'm cheating somehow - never figured out why I am like that. I like the A,B,Cs for their collectible interest, but for shaving I have always just stuck with my first E.
So to clarify, for me, the Schick E is a milder shaver than the OCMM.
