Ha,ha,ha you cats are killin me ovah hee yah!! I know in alot of Europe and Turkey, most of the men shave once a week...In Turkey they go to the barber once a week for their shave....Looks like a throw-back to the Miami Vice look....Remember the "Miami Device ? THE MIAMI DEVICE Back in 1986, if you were male and suffered from stubble envy -- a disturbance characterized by a desire to have an always budding beard like TV star Don Johnson -- you may have wanted to pick up an electric razor that went on the market that spring, costing only $29.95 and leaving you with a 5 o'clock shadow 24 hours a day. It was called the Stubble Device. The Wahl Clipper Corp. of Sterling, Ill. made it expressly to capitalize on the sandpaper-chin look popularized by the Miami Vice sleuth. Rather than suffer the embarrassment of a clean shave, you could keep your beard fashionably semi-trimmed with the machine's handy one-to-five-day growth settings. The razor was originally called The Miami Device. But the company feared a trademark infringement lawsuit by the show's producers To think the genius inspired Micro-matic from the OP had to share America's faces with the Miami Device.....just unbelievable.... Loved the show..still do. I never wanted that look though. It was clean shave or grow something out. I have a Wahl that I use for my buzz cuts. Before I discovered blade shaving I seriously considered using it once a week just so as not to have a beard. Maybe one of these guys is under the same shaving "strike" that I almost had . Could be but he still needs to reevaluate his appearance. He really looks like a bum, except I've seen bums that looked better. (sorry bums, I didn't mean to drag you down!) :-) Maybe we need to send him a TOST starter kit as a hint!!! You guys look at hairy ↪bums over there? How very peculiar! SCNROnly when they are hanging out in public....

British English and American English can get one into so much trouble, very easily....lol! If you ask a young lady to "shag" (remember that beach music dance), or if she asks you to "knock her up in the morning".....or like now, catching you guys looking at some hairy "bums".....lmao! SD is Right...It IS too funny....

9 Aug 2017 Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Soap: Arko Brush: Fan Shaped, Finest Badger Maseto Shaving (MS) 30mm (Lather Hog) Razor: GEM OCMM (First Use by Me) Blade: Treet Blade (2nd/3rd shave) Post-Shave: Thayers Witch Hazel, Rose Petal Photo: I have yet to take a photo myself. This was the sellers photo when I bought the razor. This mornings shave was the first for the OCMM. To try to minimize the variables I went with a known soap and brush. Arko is to me like Wlliams is to Fuzzy. I like some Arko. The MS brush works great if you don't mind sharing your lather with the brush. It's a very dense knot. Some have compared it to Simpsons Chubby #3. I can't afford a Simpson brush but for under $50 USD I will wait the month it took to get the MS from China. The razor proved a very good shave. A little irritation on my neck but this was the first shave and that is to be expected. What struck me was the audio feedback I got from this razor. It was like the noise on one of Fuzzy's videos. Finished the shave off with a little witch hazel to help with the irritation on the neck. All in all it was a DFS and I look forward to using the razor again. This is definitely going to be a razor in my rotation. How does it compare to the CPMM? I can not say as of yet. I have not used either razor enough to be able to compare the two, so the jury is still out on that one. But that does raise the question, should I follow my razor rotation or should I shave with either MicroMatic next to help with the comparison. The next razor in the rotation by the way is the Schick Type L.

The Schick type L is a great razor, but completely different, both in aggressiveness, angle and blade feel. You should stick to MicroMatics imho. I love both the MMCP and the MMOC...and now I'm waiting for good ol' Possum to pop up and excommunicate me!!!! 😁 We miss you, man!

I also truely miss being admonished by our resident marsupial....But like Fuzzy says....if he ever learns to shave with an efficient razor....he will become a member of the Loving the Micromatic Club himself....}8^))

It's good to read of your exploits with it.
I don't think any of the MM clan are trash, but my first love is the OCMM. It's the razor that has the latest blade in it and I'll use it until it's too dull to be used maybe in 15-25 more shaves.

11 Aug 2017
Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Soap: Arko Brush: Maseto Shaving (MS), 30mm Finest Badger Fan Shaped (Lather Hog) Razor: GEM OCMM Blade: PAL Blade (The same blade I had in the CPMM the first time I used it.) Post-Shave: Thayers Witch Hazel Aftershave Photo: This mornings shave was shave number two with the OCMM. Another fantastic shave. I now know why everybody talks so highly of this razor. I changed up the blade and put my used PAL blade in it. This was the same blade I had in the CPMM when that razor gave me such problems on 31 Jul. I can now state that it was not the blade but the rush job I did on the shave. This morning I noticed that if I kept the cap on my face I did not get as much audio feedback from the razor. Though if I lifted it off my face at all it stated talking. The more I lifted the more it sang. It was such a good shave I did a third pass with very little issues, other then the brush not wanting to give up any lather on the third pass. I will use this set up one more time for a weeks worth of shaves then go back to the CPMM to see how the two compare. Questions time for the group:- Are there any other MicroMatic's other then the CPMM, OCMM and the bullet tip/Flying Wing?
- I saw on another forum where someone had a "No Tooth MM". Was that a thing or did someone mod an OCMM?
- My CPMM and OCMM are both 12 tooth, do the 17 tooth act differently?

One of our members was discussing a SEvette awhile back, and I removed the teeth from the comb of a OCMM to get one with the qualities I wanted. It's fantastic, but it's a modified razor that wasn't good for anything else. Maybe you refer to that?
FWIW, IMO it would be criminal to modify a razor that was still good. The one I modified had a blade stop missing.

13 Aug 2017 Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: Maseto Shaving (MS) Synthetic Soap: C.O. Bigelow Razor: GEM OCMM (3rd Shave) Blade: PAL Photo: After a day of doing chores around the house (changing the oil in the Wifes car then mowed the yard) I got cleaned up and did my Monday morning shave Sunday evening. I did a Monday Menthol shave with C.O. Bigelolw. I didn't shake out enough of the water from my brush so the lather started out with some big air bubbles added some more soap and had lather enough for the next three shaves. I had lather all over me and the bathroom. On the floor, up on the counter top, all the way up too and on the mirror. Used my OCMM for the third straight shave(a weeks worth of shaves). Kept the PAL blade from the last shave it gave no issues even after at least 12 shaves on it. Keeping the head flush against my face during my two pass shave left me with a DFS. This razor is going into my rotation rack. I am going to go back to the CPMM next to compare the two. I will keep you posted. Now I just need a Flying Wing to complete the set and my MicroMatic Journey. Someone has offered to loan me one to test it out. I may have to take him up on that.

15 Aug 2017 Pre-Shave: Hot Shower
Soap: Blades Grim, Smolder Brush: JR #180, 22mm Badger Razor: GEM CPMM Blade: PAL Blade Post-Shave: Thayers Witch Hazel, Rose Pedal Photo: This morning I went back to the Clog Pruf to see how the OC & CP compare. As the devil is in the details here are the details of the shave. This morning I went with my JR brush. This brush actually started off as a PIF across the street from a nice young lady who was thinning her brush herd. It was one she set herself but came apart on me from using too hot of water in my pre-soak(I won't do that again). I liked the knot so much that I had Jim set it in one of his handles for me. The only negative thing I could say about the brush is that it's a little light, but still one I will keep in rotation. The next JR brush I get I will have him add some weight to it. For soap I decided on my self made "stick" of Smolder by Blades Grim. What can I say about this soap. Some guys love it, I'm not a big fan. Don't get me wrong it lathers easy and it does not have an offensive odor to me but there are too many soaps out there to try to keep an okay soap in your den. Once it is gone I will not be replacing it. I may have to offer it to my oldest son, he liked it. I went with my used PAL blade. Now if you have been following along with my journey, this is the blade I used the first time I used this razor. I had less then stellar results then, but after the good results I got from it in the OC I decided to give it another try. I am glad I did. This mornings shave was great, almost heavenly. It felt as though I could do no wrong with it. Very smoooooth. I tried to be mindful of angle and keeping the cap against my face which I believe was the main factor in the good results. After a two pass shave I ended with a DFS. A shave that makes me look forward to the next time I get to shave. I finished off the shave with a cold water rinse then a splash of Rose Petal WH. In closing what I have learned from today's shave is: - The CPMM is much milder/smoother then the OCMM.
- Do not write off a razor after just one shave. Come back to it after a while. 9 times out of 10 it was technique that was bad not the razor.
- I am glad I found this place and the people here. They have lead me to the wonderful world of shaving.

I'm enjoying reading about the journey!
I've found that returning to a razor even after months or years is beneficial. Our technique and expertise changes over time.
