Yup. As far as the physical world, most gents just want a few things, a place to live, enough food to eat, and to get laid. Most of the problems of the world and complexity in life comes from the latter.

It's an acquired taste. I love it, my brother thinks it tastes like turpentine.
An easy way to start, and this will sound weird, mix it with cows milk (not skim milk). You don't need the good stuff for mixing either. That goes for Rum and Bourbon also. Milk smooths out the flavor. Maybe 1/3 booze and 2/3 or more milk is about right. I wrote cows milk because I never did it with soy or other milk substitute. They might work, but might also fail.

You can do a lot worse than follow Bird's advice in "the Pub" section. The term "scotch" encompasses many flavors, from heavy tastes to lighter, esp' so when exploring single malts.
Of all the scotches mentioned I think the most bang for the buck is the White Horse @ ~$36 for 1.75 liters. Ballantines is also still a favorite and can be had in a smaller bottle. But White Horse is often found in my nighttime toddy glass.

Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Soap: Lilac Shave Stick, Mystic Water Soap Brush: Synthetic, Maseto Shaving (MS) Razor: GEM Flying Wing/Bullet Tip MicroMatic (FWMM), on loan from Sgt Fuzzy Blade: Treet (3rd/4th shave) Post-Shave: Rose Petal, Thayers WH Photo: View Attachment
Today's shave started of with a great lather from the MW stick. I had worked a good lather up then add just a little more water to the brush and BAM I had lather all over. It was great. I don't know what to blame the last lackluster shave on, the razor, the age of the blade, or technique. So I changed out the blade this morning and went with the Treet blade. It was not a "new" blade, it had about 4 shaves on it. If you could draw any answers on the cause of the last shave from today's it was NOT the razor. Today's shave left me very impressed with the FWMM. Two passes with a little touch up along the jaw line and I have as close to BBS as can be. If the FWMM was the only razor I could use the rest of my life and got todays results I would be a very happy man.
The hard part now is trying to decide what razor is coming out of my normal rotation set to make room for this one? Do I keep both the CPMM and the FWMM in the rotation set? The questions are mute though as I have a new razor I have to try. I recently received a Valet VB2 that I am getting blades for. Thanks riverrun on the heads up across the street on the blades. It look interesting and I can't wait to take it for a spin. With the permission of the FWMM owner I would like to hang on to it just a tad bit longer if I may. Did the son ever try the MM's? Maybe I missed a post.

Has the son tried it yet?? No he has not. He hasn't shaved in two weeks and it's driving me up a wall. But then again he is only 18 and just out of high school so he knows everything. Do you want a teenager? I'll give him to you. I remember when I graduated high school, I was so tired of shaving every day (can't blame myself, not having the knowledge or equipment I have now) that I grew a beard all summer!
