Finally after a few weeks on Portuguese Customs and with an almost endless email exchange with its services I received the fantastic Featherwight in its original box from @wchnu! Here it is in all its glory: I'll now proceed to use it for a few weeks to put it to test and try to learn its quirks. Will update this thread with my findings. Thanks a bunch to @wchnu for this fantastic gift and the opportunity to experience this "gem" from another time!

Wow corto it took forever. What was the issue if you do not mind sharing? I am very happy you got it and looking forward to seeing how you like using it. The Customs demanded a sale receipt or a proof of buy with the value of the transaction. I repeated in all the emails I exchanged with them that it was a gift of a vintage shaving device and not a sale. At one point the services asked for the original sale receipt and I told them then that as the razor was from the 50s of last century I could assure them that the original receipt was already lost... I finally managed to get it by signing a formal declaration that the razor was for my personal use and not meant to be sold under penalty of paying a substantial fine or even jail time. This is standard M.O. of the Customs, they always treat the package recipient as a potential criminal trying to escape paying import taxes. And after 3-4 email exchanges they then ask to sign this declaration meant to scare people into paying the taxes. Patience is key... In the end everything turned out fine, and I'm now enjoying this fine piece of shaving history. I already used it twice and I'm utterly surprised by its efficiency. Its lower head profile makes it really manoeuvrable under the nose and on some other hard to get spots. I used it first with one of the blades that come in the box and I really enjoyed it. But the blade was filled with rust on the next day so this second shave today I used one SS PTFE coated that I had laying around. On this second shave I think I broke my shaving speed record! I was in a hurry and from prep, to clean up and store all the shaving paraphernalia it took me around 15 minutes. And I never felt that the Featherweight was going to bite me in complaint. hehe Thanks again my friend for this fantastic gift, and I'll keep using it for a few weeks... I'll shoot a few photos of my selected combos tomorrow and post them here and on the SOTD thread. Today was kind of hectic but I wanted to talk with you guys and leave some feedback on my first days with a Featherweight.

You have to dry the razor and Carbon steel blades after use. I just make it part of the routine. I think this razor was also called the "slim V". It is a very easy very close shave. I also find the handle is easy to grip. Happy shaves my friend!!

Wonderful thread! Fuzzy is merely trying to trap you into a lifetime of enjoyable, adventurous shaving. You have to watch him all the time! : )
I appreciate the post office story too as Canada Post can do some puzzling stuff at times and things can move really slow once in awhile. They surprise you occassionally with being fast and efficient. But I don't think that is the credo they live by.
Enjoy the shaves - and the adventure!

Incredible! But good that you finally got it.
One blade? It'll last for awhile, but when you want more Connaught shaving in the UK is probably the place to get them. They had the best prices for us here in the USA even with the quite reasonable shipping.

Have a nice start of the week friends! 21.08.2017 Great third shave with the Featherweight... Today I spoiled myself with a Veleiro shave that combined with the Featherweight left me with a dolphin skin-like face, smooth and shiny. This little razor sure is a fantastic shaver with a resulting close shave but smooth and leaving the skin very well cared of. It doesn't leave a trace of sting on the face as with other more aggressive razors but it's just as efficient for me. A fantastic gift and it enters directly to my rotation. I'll keep using it for the next weeks though. That's how much I'm loving it hehe

Featherweight is one of my dearest razors. I buy it in a lot with 1924. I was sure that I wouldn't use it much. I just don't like it. But when I try it... Oh boy! Wonderfull little shaver! BTW. 1924. is now the one I don't use much.
