Just got this beautifull NOS Canadian Schick J2 (if I am right). It is all here - box, razor, blades, dummy blade and instructions! So happy! One question, are this blade any good? Can I use it? You never know with this vintage blades...

Nice catch. I currently have an NOS blade from a similar looking magazine in my H1 and it is perfectly OK. Not the best (that accolade goes to NOS Twin blades), but good. Only one way to find out though... Enjoy.

The J2 is a very good razor, I use it from time to time and I like it a lot, though not as much as my beloved G2. Plus, yours is in pristine condition....this razor has been waiting for you almost 60 years, so....use it and enjoy! Talking of which, I think I'll use my J2 tomorrow....

Yep I have found those; in spite of the fact they were made in Canada; to still be good shavers! Definitely good looking...Like a Jaguar E-type, looks like it's going 60 mph sitting still!
I think it was ShaverX that said the ones with the chrome plated heads were a tad more aggressive than the ones with the gold plated heads....in a good way......Let us know how it shaves...

Let us know how it shaves... Heavenly! I have passed on picking one of these razors a few times now. But with a description like 'Heavenly!' regarding how it shaves, I won't be able to pass on the next one. This Razor Acquisition Disorder is truly a sticky one.

Yup PJ, I agree with Fuzzy, they are hit or miss. I had a NOS Hydro-Magic and the blades were great. Then I had a NOS G and the blades were tuggers. You just never know. I always try them though. Many folks will not use any NOS razors and blades when they find them. They save them for their collection or as an investment and that's cool, to each his own. I, however use every razor I own. I really don't have any razors just to add to a collection. All my razors are working razors.

For first time I use Chicks blade, but i will try this old ones. I still can belive how good was shave with J2. Smooth and close, so close. And easy! And Chicks are good blade. I try them in the Supply's TheSingleEdge but they just don't work like they should. But in J2... Infact I think to sell TheSingleEdge...
