Gentlemen, Here's a pic of the super aggressive Ever-Ready that I mentioned recently. Any help with ID would be greatly appreciated. Tom may have already covered this but I just wanted to put up some pics for confirmation. Thanks! Hope it's not too many pics? John Attachments:

That appears to be the standard 1912 frame, ER called it the Improved Ever-Ready Razor. I have/had several ER 1912's and they appear identical to the Star and Gem versions.

I am going to agree with HT. Where would you date that HT? Looks like into the early 20's eh?

Wchnu,
Thanks, I think she's purdy too! My first Ever-Ready, there will never be another like her....sigh.

Yeah they are nice, the ornate handled ERs. As HT has noted the frame to me appears to be identical to the standard 1912, so it shouldn't be any more aggressive (haven't got an ER myself). The only difference I can see is that the outer edges of the guard appear more rounded than any of the three 1912s I've got. But then as always I'm sure there are identical GEMs, GEM Juniors, Stars etc etc out there. If it's overly aggressive, maybe the stops are damaged. I know it's the standard response to such observations but having attempted to shave with a badly loaded blade myself it's really, really not nice.
Edit: Just noticed my fatty handled GEM Junior has the same rounded guard edge.

Like I said elsewhere, the ER 1912 frame was introduced in 1930 as the Improved Ever-Ready Razor. It was the replacement for the 1924. How long they were made is anybodies guess.

Thanks everyone for your input. It does seem significantly more aggressive than my Gem 1912. I'll have to check the stops etc. I LIKE the aggression, but its' way more than my OCMMs or my '24 -- just for comparison's sake.

I've yet to find anything more aggressive than those two.
