Hello all This night was my first shave with this amazing razor. I am really impressed I did my usual preparation with Sanders Royal soap, put a new PTFE blade in it, and started to shave. The curve is so natural and easy, and I think my experience with MMOC helped me a lot. The shave was smooth and fast ! I should pay a lot attention with my Micromatic. This little GEM was sent to me from an american friend, who bought in on ebay. It will definitely stay in my rotation. Thank you for reading

I had my first shave with my new 1912 a few weeks back and it was an outstanding shave as well. I sold these style razors short for a while but no more. For what I want out of a shaving experience and not taking into consideration the "play pretty factor" single edge razors provide the most trouble free, efficient and easy shave imaginable.I will throw out the caveat emptor "YMMV" that tired and overly used acronym that all shaving forums use as a mantra, resulting in that I just want to rip out my teeth and set my hair on fire every time I see it at this point. There.....I have used it once and never again.

But it probably shouldn't.

razorhound That is no 1912. That is a 1910 Gem Junior Bar. A lather catcher. And a beautiful one at that! That set is amazing!!!!! I have three 1910's but none of them look that good.

You just gave me a heart attack. That is one SWEET ride you have there. If you do not have a 1912 send me a PM. I send you one. It will not be nearly as nice as your 1910 though. Tom

Tom I just posted pics of all my single edges. To be honest the first set of photos you see of what you say is a 1910, I had no idea what it was. listed as a Gem JR and I knew it was old and I liked it. Have not got my hands on it yet. I stupidly gave it to wife to give me for Christmas being she has no idea what to get me razor wise.

Tom Is it what is considered a lather catcher? Was listed as GEM JR lather catcher but I believe some use the lather catcher term loosely. I can identify unmentionables pretty well but these baby's are confusing to me.

That Gem Jr. is a true lather catcher. The 1912 and 1914 are also. But with a much smaller catch. The 1914 hardly has any.

Very nice Gem 1912, Z-2. What country are you from, if you don't mind me asking? It's wonderful to see how these razors travel worldwide! I picked up a few baton-handle 1912s recently and am loving them! A great change of pace with that chunky handle.

Did not mean to hijack your thread friend. Got carried away with my struggle to post images and lost myself in that.

OMG!!!! Where is the love bottom? Not sure how to respond to your post, I am a bit daft and dense this morning even after coffee. I will post a new thread in appropriate forum a bit later with better images that might be less confusing and not hijacking another souls thread. The "bottom" portion is throwing me.

Razor' you asked about posting images...
I use postimage.org and there is a place there where one is asked if the image should be resized. Some picture hosting sites do the resizing without asking and offer no options. Or you can do it yourself with software in your computer. In postimage I generally resize for a 15" monitor.
