Makes sense now! They were duplicates so close to what I already had that I didn't need them (I'm not a collector). They were liberated from whatever fate would have met them in the wild. I'm extremely happy that they wound up in good hands! That was my intent and the intent of the person who found them and sold them to me. All 3 are used often. That one was a duplicate for me also. But is a fine shaving machine.

I can't see the entire razor, but from what I do see it's great example of a 100 year old (and used) LC. Quite similar to what I use. I didn't pay a lot for my razors. Use it in good health Bird'. That use to be your razor. It is one of the three I got from poppi that he got from you. birdlives cleaned it up good!! Wow! Reading these last few posts has kind of made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and given me goose-bumps... I remember when Brian was offering those LC's....I even PMed him about liberating one if I wasn't too late. Then an acquaintance across the street offered me a JR Bar LC so I Re-PMed Brian that if it was still available, maybe someone else could use it more as I had found one. Then Brian got back that he had already found a home for all three. I remember, his first concern was that they would be cared for... Well the Gentleman who had offered me the Lather Catcher across the street, demured and I was back looking again...I'm not sure of his reason....I think he wanted to try his luck at a better price on the auction site...Then I saw where Poppi was adopting Brian's foster LCs.. Now the Fuzz-Meister has sent me one of those very LCs....This really is a beautiful thing....And all those LCs have ended up in loving hands and being used as they were originally intended...This could be part of a Classic TV Shave Soap Opera.... Well...I want all you kind hearted gentleman to know, this ER LC certainly is loved and it's journey has ended at my shave cave. This is my first LC and I would never think of parting with it...I've used it every day since it arrived. After my days of shaving are over, it will hopfully continue to provide fantastic zen shave moments for another 100 years to come.... But for now, I'm humbled and proud to join you guys in providing a link in this razor's chain....and to be where this buck stopped.....}8^)) Thanks to all who played a part....

The Kampfe Brothers were of course German immigrants (their razors need to be sent back to that shithole country!!) and their razors inspired Hitler to write "Mein Kampfe"... As proof... a picture of the first edition: Why anyone would want to own any lather catcher is beyond me... Something like that?

Too funny! Of course you know you didn't score any points with the German contingent of the forum, right? I loaned my '13 Kampfe to a friend and let him know that it was mein Kampfe and that I wanted it back. I thought his drink was going to come out of his nose. He was taking a sip at the time. My timing was excellent. I can get away with that since I'm of Prussian ancestry, later incorporated into a bigger Germany (if I understand it correctly). If I can't mock the country my peasant ancestors escaped from (early 1900) who can? I've also suggested a sign over the henhouse as previously seen over the entry to Dachau. That sign has yet to be made and probably never will be made. FWIW, when I was stationed in Dexheim, West Germany in the early '70s they didn't teach any of the WW2 history in schools, it was just a blank in their history. Unless I'm mistaken it was against the law to even discuss that time. I have no idea what it's like these many decades later. But I've found German Germans (as opposed to Americans of German ancestry) to be good folks for the majority. They just want what everyone else wants for their families. I don't mean that to disparage Americans of German ancestry; that's not at all what I mean. But I'm way off subject.

Too funny! Of course you know you didn't score any points with the German contingent of the forum, right? Being part of the German contingent of the forum, I give myself full marks FWIW, when I was stationed in Dexheim, West Germany in the early '70s they didn't teach any of the WW2 history in schools, it was just a blank in their history. Unless I'm mistaken it was against the law to even discuss that time. I have no idea what it's like these many decades later. I went to school in Germany during that period and I know from first hand experience that you are quite mistaken. Not only was the Third Reich a big part of the history curriculum, additionally there was certainly no law against discussing the subject. Not sure what kind of yokels you spoke to...
