I think your angle is a bit steep. On the neck it seemed almost OK, but on the cheeks it looked far from the point of maximum smoothness.. Try the cap on your face. If it won't cut, try shimming the blade.

Tonights Shave Blade-CVS
Razor-1912 Ever Ready
Brush-Vai Long horse hair
Soap-Derby Menthol
Shave- Workable
I noticed after re watching my last video, that my angle seemed a bit off. I tried again tonight, with 1 1/2 days growth. The blade was on its 2nd or 3rd use.
My neck was a DFS plus, but the cheeks were only a workable. I suspect that it will all come together. Will just take time and practice.
Thanks for the feedback! It is appreciated. I thought the same thing as well, so tonight on my 1912 shave, I tried adjusting my angle... I dont think I got it PERFECT, but it was a better shave this time. I may have to experiment with it for the next few shaves until I get it right. Good news is Williams Wednesday is coming up, and after I bloom my Williams, I will try to lower my angle just a bit more.
I may try riding the cap, and see if that fixes it. I suspect it would. Thanks for the help

Keep at it with the SEs, ordinaryshaver. Your perseverance and positive attitude have you on the right trajectory for success. Took me the better part of a year to figure out SEs, and even though I'm getting the best shaves I've ever had, I still learn and improve daily. Constructive criticism: I do agree that you need a steeper angle of attack. Of all the technique idiosyncrasies I needed to learn, this one was my "A ha!" moment. Head virtually flat against your face, just barely angled enough to cut. Experiment a bit, this is when it becomes fun!

Shallower angle of attack w/head close to flat against the face.
