Well, I haven't scarpered with the Bunny and gone into hiding but work has taken a turn for the worst. I've unboxed her but little more than that. She's an old acquaintance as I had the pleasure of a pass-around on another forum. We do have a Bank Holiday here this weekend so, hopefully, I'll get some play time. The short story is, I'll take the 10 days please.

I've done it with my Bunnies and if you keep the correct angle and use no pressure you are rewarded with a great shave. It's not something I would do every day, because it requires more attention than a shave without the safety net of a comb-guard. Not crazier than shaving with a straight, less crazy than shaving with a shavette. Fuzzy was here. Wasn't there a video from the first pass around of someone shaving Bunnyvette style?

Yeah, Fuzzy, I was wondering why you were throwing shade since you had recently done a Gvette shave. That is actually what inspired me to do the Bunnyvette shave.

The Bunny is finally prepped, ready for a shave. There are blades in the box (possibly just 1 left, now) but I have plenty of my own - from Chicks to B20s to vintage - so I thought I'd pop an Ultra Platinum in. Mmm, they were stuck together and wouldn't budge. So I thought, what if my Personna 74s are stuck together too? They're not, so I'll be shaving with one of those 🤓 Super sharp, so I'll stick with the mild plate. It will be a Sunday afternoon shave. I don't often shave on a Sunday but I'll have about 2 1/2 day's growth, which will be fun. The brush might be boar, or maybe a beehive badger. I'm torn between soaps - Imperial Leather, Old Spice or Yardley Black Label. I still have too much work on but might have a chance to work out how to post a pic 🤔

So, shave 1 is done on this pass-around. As I've mentioned, I've used the Bunny before. It remains, in my view, a triumph of engineering and design. Preamble: Prep - warm shower (it felt hot here today and I caught the sun, running around planting squashes and tomatoes in my 'free' time), plus Trumper's sandalwood Skin Food; Soap - vintage Cussons Imperial Leather; Brush - vintage Cussons boar; Blade - Personna 74. The shave: The Bunny's angle is utterly intuitive; the weight and balance, spot on. The soap, a buttery tallow, possibly from the 70s, is one of my favourites. (I've collected sticks and other pots, so I have a few). The NOS brush isn't yet broken in but did well - it didn't hold too much water or hog lather. (I have an identical one from a Boots set, which means that a (presumably English) company was producing them for various markets). The Personna can be harsh on its first outing but I remembered the golden rule - NO PRESSURE. All told, the shave (WTG then mostly XTG) was excellent, if uneventful - no blood, no weepers, super-smooth cheeks, my neck marginally less so - I'm starting to see the beginnings of the dreaded crepe neck, so should have done a bit of stretching 😕

Ha - it's turned out not to have been the best time to receive the Bunny. Work has continued to be an issue, with short notice trips and sometimes only 4 hours' sleep. I've sometimes had to resort to unmentionable cartridge shaves - even, bleary-eyed, a 'shaver'. Add in a broken boiler to sort out and a dental problem, which will see me in the dentist's chair for 2 hours and you'll get the drift. I popped a couple more shaves in with the Mild comb - which smoothed out the P74 - I thought. The next, careless, shave with the Notso comb and a less than satisfactory Ingram lather gained me some irritation to my left jawline. I have a Van Dyck so I can't say anything about under the nose or big old chins. I know that: an injector with a comb (adjustable, no less) gets my vote; for me the Bunny works best with a nice, tallow, pasty lather (no clogging issues for me). I would keep it, I would buy it, I have hogged it. I would like to try a Wild, maybe peeled grape, shave and will push the Bunny on after the weekend. Whose next in line twhite

twhite I don't need asking twice if I'd like to keep her for another week - I'd happily buy her off you. If you've hopped back through the posts and you're happy there are no others on the Euro list, I'll send her on around 15th. Is there anything you hanker for from the UK that I might pop in the box?

That one is my only one I have. So I kind of want it back😊. I will PM you my address. I can’t think of anything right now. If I do I will let you know. Tom
