I hope it cleans up pretty good. If it does, I will be using it for next week's shaves.

A bullet tip is one of the few razors I fancy owning. I love the patents. Very clever. And they seem to be reasonable even with shipping from the US. Enjoy yours.

I believe this razor was also referred to as the Flying Wing.

Bullet Tip also due to the knob at the bottom.

The Bullet Tip and Flying Wing monikers obscure the fact that Gem considered that there were two different models released, a Guiding Eye and one sometimes appearing in catalogs as the Flying Wing. Collectors came up with Bullet Tips. Which is why our friend ended up buying two razors. Now they may have overlapped in sales, but the Push-Pak found with the plain FW didn't appear before 49.

Were the flying wing models (my favorite name by the way) just the models with no eye? Or was there something else special about them?

You sure know how to search out the facts. I dig all the stuff you guys find.

OK, Bullet Tip noob here. What the heck are to talking about? Blind...etc? The center stub inside? In the bottom image, middle picture, you will see a little circle in the middle of the head. That was referred to the guiding eye. The idea was to let that eye touch your cheek. A razor without that guiding eye is sometimes referred to as blind. I see. So the 'Guiding Eye' was a sales gimmick? It didn't affect the razor, right?

I don't see any difference between the two models other than the non-functional eye. My Guiding Eye is nickel rather than chrome plated which I haven't seen in the other model, that may or may not be another difference.

I think you are correct. I believe most people don't bother with reading instructions, so many probably did not take the advice of putting the cap flat on the face thus not getting a good angle. Drawing attention to the guiding eye may have tricked some into reading the instructions.
