Were the flying wing models (my favorite name by the way) just the models with no eye? Or was there something else special about them? I don't see any difference between the two models other than the non-functional eye. My Guiding Eye is nickel rather than chrome plated which I haven't seen in the other model, that may or may not be another difference. Great information thank you. I think all I have is the flying wings. WOW lot of great information here!!

This is a case of using the tool as intended and getting better use out of it. A properly used Micro Matic is a wonderful razor. Mess with the angle, Specially with the OCMM, and it is not a good shave at all.

When it arrived today, I didn't bother with pictures. It went straight to the Dawn soak and then toothbrush scrub. Here are pictures after the clean up. There is a little plating loss on the bullet tip, but it is in otherwise very good shape. Here it is next to my silver tone bullet tip. It has not guiding eye and evidently is 48-49. Next I decided to compare my four Micromatics on my kitchen scale. MMOC: 65g MMCP: 63g Flying Wing Guiding Eye MMBT: 70g MMBT: 71g

This was my first shave with the Flying Wing with the Guiding Eye. I used a Personna Pal CS blade. The Snake Bite lathered like a champ with my JR#268 synthetic brush. I could have gotten by with one pass, but I relathered and did a second pass for a near BBS shave. It was a very nice shave. I am using the Flying Wing through Thursday this week. I am using some unmentionables on Friday and Saturday.

They were also the ones who advertised no 5 0'clock shadow. It delivers a very close shave.

Stropped 4,840 times? That's almost as many as Jayaruh does on his shirt.

I got one of these recently and I ended up with a bloody face and neck. I was certainly not prepared for just how aggressive this "mild" razor can be when not handled properly. I will certainly keep practicing with it to improve my technique with it, but it's definitely not something to take for granted.

We sometimes forget the true nature of what we consider mild . As your technique gets better, and in that I include lather, you'll find them mild as well. You may not like them, but as you learn you'll be able to use them should you wish to. I've been accused of suggesting that one of the most aggressive razors was mild. Rightly so, I'll add. We tend to forget that there are others reading the reviews, and at some point we simply can't relate to others any more.

If you follow the rules with the Micromatics to get a great easy shave. keep the head flat on the face and watch pressure. More so then most any other razor the MM's punish for bad technique. The OCMM is the worst about this. If enough attention is not given they bite. As usual technique is the key.. angle and pressure.

I always wanted a shiney Bullet Tip...When shiney, thats one very pretty razor...I especially think the one with the plastic tip looks amazing!....Funny, thats one micro-matic I never actually had or shaved with..some of my friends, whom I respect their opinions though love them.... If I was a gambling man...I would bet they are fabulous....

I've used the GEM bullet-tip with Magic Eye a couple times now and in both uses ended up nicking myself rather badly. Is there a tutorial video I can watch to see how others have handled it?
