So, while running errands with Swmbo, we went to Sally's beauty supply. I wondered around until I found the men's grooming area. I found this pretty cool shaving brush. It performed well and as far as performance goes. I was suprised by the softness and the overall performance. I'm not sure how I really feel about synthetic brushes, but for less than 10 bucks I'll keep it in the den. For comparison sake you have the synthetic in the middle compared with the Cremo horse hair, and the ever ready boar.

What is your favorite size knot? I had the same Cremo horse brush and thought it was a little small. Just wondering.

See, the odd thing is, I though the size of them the Cremo was just fine. I talking height now. As far as diameter, I would like something a bit larger, but the height, was fine for me. I do wish the handle was biggger, can often be a bit hard to hold.

I have made a couple of videos with the Barburys. It is a nice brush for the price.

Used it for my day off, shave. It lathered the old Spice cream very well, and I didn't have any complaints. I figure though, any brush should lather a cream, the real test for me, will be the soaps. I'm in the boar camp, and it will be tough to go to synthetic, but we shall see.

I was very leery about synthetics at first. Now they are among my favorites. They are NOT to be compared to natural fibers, but instead treat them as what they are... fibers entirely unto themselves. Tip: since they don't need to hydrate, don't dip them before loading the brush. Typically they will hold far too much water and when the fibers hit anything (in this case the soap) they dump it and it's always too much. Instead I put the water I want directly onto the puck. Get some proto lather worked up and they start to act more "normally" and can be dipped. The worst of the bunch, as far as being different, was a Plisson that I bought on a B/S/T. I almost never even tried it because it was so different. But it's quite a good brush. My point is to not expect them to act as a natural fiber brush acts. Keep an open mind.

I'm almost exclusively synthetic now. I like the way they lather (incredible!) with so little effort. Some feel better on the face than others but that's the case with all brushes.
I think they are a great value too
